Many of you might remember my old park thread that I last updated in mid-July (check here (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9975689#post9975689)). Now, you might also recall that I had to stop the park because my file wouldn't open. That issue was actually fixed, but I just lost interest in the game for a while. Now, since I've got about a month break between semesters, I feel like I shouldn't just let the park die. It really is one of my better parks, and it should continue. I will attempt to keep the same story going (as seen in the previous thread), and the park will get somewhat regular updates throughout January. I'll try to keep it going during spring semester, but it won't be as regular.

Bayside Boardwalk
Season 4
Update 1: Park Preview

Hello everyone! I know it's been quite a while, but Bayside Boardwalk is back in business. We had a bit of a rough time since our last season ended; the construction of a few new rides took much longer than anticipated, and we had to hold off on opening the park for a fourth season for quite some time. Also, we had some proposals to fight off; there was talk of building a large mall/hotel complex in the area after the river, and there was also an attempt to buy the park and make it into a residential development. However, we stopped all those attempts and were able to continue with the park. Right now, there are a few major changes to discuss. First off, the entrance complex has been completely redone; the old buildings seemed to dominate the entrance area too much. Secondly, the reflecting pool in the middle of Bayside Boulevard has been redone; new waterfall fountains have been added and it has been split in the middle. And finally, the newest rollercoaster in the park, Huracàn, has been completed aside from some minor theming. It has new cars, too; Intamin has given us some experimental sit-down cars. However, I'm sure that you all are tired of reading this. Let's get to some pictures, shall we?

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen1.jpg
The new entrance buildings look much nicer.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen2.jpg
You can see both waterfalls that have been added to the reflecting pool.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen3.jpg
These waterfalls are actually quite tall; about 4 stories in fact.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen4.jpg
Solar Flare has two minor changes; it has only one car per train, like all the other X-Car Launched coasters, and they are now painted all black.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen5.jpg
SuperSoaker is getting quite the makeover; more water events, a new soundtrack, and a firey new paint job. It will be renamed, but we aren't sure of the new name.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen6.jpg
Huracàn is the tallest coaster in the park; it just edges Solar Flare by 8 feet.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen7.jpg
The theming is happening while the coaster is testing; it mainly consists of rock structures and water fountains.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u1screen8.jpg
And here we have the photograph that will be on one of our park's postcards. It's quite nice, and it shows off enough of Huracàn to be a great teaser.

That's all I have for you today. After all, this is just a preview of what's to come. The next update will be the park's opening day. These pictures are actually from about a month ago, so you can be sure that much more construction has been taking place. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the first major update in the reborn Bayside Boardwalk.

It's great to see some more sculptural pieces of scenery that fill up pathways and make areas stand out and have more interaction with guests in game and those waterfalls really are beautiful, you've really pulled it of with that idea.

The entrance area structures look very crisp and the colour choice is modern, yet the orange gives it a boost and the surrounding trees and rocks liven up the area.

My only crit would be that the smaller fountains in between the larger waterfall pieces in the reflecting pool look a bit too monotonous and maybe some varying heights with larger fountains might break it up a bit, or it could just be the angle of the photo.

Huracàn, is a great addition to the boardwalk and again your choice of colour is spot on with the muted and modern tones. The layout seems to flow well, the supports look realistic and finally those waterfall features as with the other ones are very creative and add so much to the ride imo.

Keep up the creative work, infiniteblue. :)

Looking good Infinite. My only concern is the various fountains on the coaster, it just looks like to much, and try to texture the ground a bit more with dirt, bushes and maybe some sand.

Thanks for the feedback. I did mess around with the fountains on the ride, but you won't see that until next update.

Thanks! That honestly means a lot to me. Although I think it looked better in HHE...

Sorry for the lack of updates in (geez, it's almost been a month now, hasn't it) quite some time. I blame No Limits; it's just so hard to make a good coaster. Not at all like in RCT3. Shouldn't be a problem now; I really want to get this season going.

Bayside Boardwalk
Season 4
Update 2- Opening Day 2009

Hello everyone! You may all have been waiting patiently (or not, I don't know) for some more information about Bayside Boardwalk, and I'm ready to give it to you. Silly me for thinking that the major construction would have been done shortly after the preview update. Anyway, that's really not important now. What is important is that this season's opening day brought in more guests than the three previous opening days combined. It isn't hard to see why, either. For the thrill seekers, we have added a phenomenal Intamin Mega-Lite called Huracàn, and for every member of the family we have added new rides and made minor changes to familiar ones. Let me now show you all some highlights from the Opening Day festivities!

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s1.jpg
The new entrance billboards have finally been installed. We certainly have one heck of a graphic designer working for us.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s2.jpg
The fountain pattern in the reflecting pools have been modified. Now, it looks much more extravagant and grand.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s3.jpg
Solar Flare is just as popular as ever; the new paintjob is really noticeable here. The outer rails are now yellow; it makes it seem a little brighter.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s4.jpg
As expected, Huracàn has been our most popular attraction. There is another train of satisfied guests.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s5.jpg
This is one of the most exciting elements this coaster has to offer. The crossover is really intense and features an insane head-chopper.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s6.jpg
To the left of Huracàn, we have built a brand new coffee shop and restaurant. Simply entitled "Bayside Café", it features some beautiful views of the ocean. It certainly seems pleasant, doesn't it?

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s7.jpg
Well, as you can see, this isn't your ordinary coffee shop. There is another thrill on this rooftop; a thrilling Disk'o ride. Take in some beautiful views; that is, if you can keep your eyes open.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s8.jpg
SuperSoaker has been renamed. However, it really only has a new suffix. Now, it is SuperSoaker XL; unfortunately, the new water effects haven't been installed yet.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u2s9.jpg
Huracàn really towers over the entire park. You can see it from nearly every part of the park.

Well, that is all I have for you right now. Next time, we will have a special update featuring the park's newest rollercoaster. Prepare yourself for the fury of the storm: Huracàn! Also: expect a major announcement regarding the future of Bayside Boardwalk. See you next time!

Ok....so it looks like I've missed this park and I have to say that HOLY CRAP, this is first class work man. I love the modern, clean, beachy look to this place. I would like to commend you on your color choices, your billboards, and pretty much about everything in this park. Right now I don't have anything bad to say about this park. Definitely one of the best parks here right now.

One question, where or how did you get those 4-story tall waterfalls?

03gibbss
01-12-2009, 06:35 PM
^Old spice released a set of animated CS waterfalls which can be stacked on top of one another to make them as high as you need! ;)

You can do that too. Just turn up your anti-aliasing level. It makes your edges more smoother. But it will prblly slow down your computer.

I do turn my anti-aliasing level up but it still doesn't look anywhere near that good (although my graphics card only takes me up to level 3 anti-aliasing and i've heard other people can get up to 5 or higher?)

Bayside Boardwalk
Season 4
Update 3- Huracàn

Welcome back to Bayside Boardwalk, everyone! It's been nearly a week since the park first opened for Season 4, and we have had record attendance nearly every day. Today, we are officially unveiling the coaster that has catapulted our attendance levels to unimaginable heights. I'm not going to bore you with any pointless stats; what I will tell you is that the first hill is 110ft and the coaster hits a top speed of 55mph. The coaster also features three overbanked turns and various headchopper effects created by the scenery around the coaster. It is an Intamin Mega-Lite that we have named Huracàn. So, now we move on to the pictures.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s1.jpg
The station building for this coaster is one of the most striking buildings in the park.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s2.jpg
From the top of the lift, you can see nearly all of the boardwalk. Also, note the wooden structure covering part of the first turn.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s3.jpg
This is a really nice coaster; it's just tall enough so that you can see it no matter where you stand in the park. You can also see some more headchopper scenery elements in this shot.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s4.jpg
This element makes a fly-by right next to the brake run. The cross-over hills are also quite intense; the support structure creates a nice close call situation with the train.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s5.jpg
A major feature of this coaster is the interaction with the scenery. There are a few different rock structures throughout the course, and there are a few different headchopper sections and rocky tunnels as well.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s6.jpg
Here you can see the second wooden tunnel section. Even in this section, which has a lower average speed, this creates quite a thrilling experience.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s7.jpg
You can really see the support jungle here. Near the lower sections of the ride, the supports really surround it.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s8.jpg
This coaster also features Intamin's magnetic brake system, which is used to gently slow down the train after the intense thrills it offers.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u3s9.jpg
And finally, we have an overview shot of the coaster.

Now, I realize that it may have been better to post this update with a video of the rollercoaster. However, the video is still being filmed, so it will have to wait until the next update.

Last time, I promised you all that I would have a major announcement regarding the future of this park. I do have all the details on this, and I will be revealing them right now. We have harnessed the rights to build on the land behind Solar Hills and Solar Flare, and we will be taking advantage of this in the coming years. The major announcement relating to this is the fact that we will be getting an experimental B&M coaster; it is experimental because it will be the first LIM launched B&M coaster ever. I don't have any more details on this, though.

I somehow missed this until now...I like it a lot! You've got a great atmosphere and the pathways have all kinds of interesting things to look at.

I am a little confused as to why you have stormrunner trains for Huracan. Does it launch up the lift hill sort of like Maverick? If not, cars without shoulder restraints would probably make the ride more fun in reality...but its not a huge deal either way.

I'll make sure to check this out mmore often. ;)

Well tbh have you ridern a Stormrunner? There harneses on most of them are so far away from your body its almost like having no harness at all so you should get plenty of airtime and have the fealing of freedom of movement on this ride.

Im not sure why everyones all fafhing about the supports they look fine, but im not too keen on the water effect, there a little unrelistic?

Bayside Boardwalk
Season 4
Update 4- Mid-Season Check-Up

Hello again, and welcome to this brief Season 4 update. Kevin here, once again bringing pictures of Bayside Boardwalk for you all to look at. This is a simple update, only intended to bring everyone up to speed and let everyone know what exactly has happened. Now, it's been almost 5 months since the park opened, and record attendance and revenue numbers have been posted. But that isn't the most important development the park has had. We were closed for almost two months; this was intended to give us time to purchase and construct a modular theater building. To be honest, the building is quite large, and may seem out of place. However, right now there is only plans to keep it in the park for three seasons. But enough with the talk; I think it's time to show the pictures.

The theater occupies the space that the original Bayside Café stood in. The first floor and second floor theater is exclusively for live entertainment; including music, plays, and even the occasional stand-up comic. The third floor theater is our film room. The posters out front are more for decoration than anything; many of the films won't actually be shown.

This is the view from the roof of the theater. The roof is also an observation deck; you can get some spectacular views up here.

The queue for Rooftop Robot has a new wooden structure; it makes it look a lot different for not a lot of money. Also, you can see the theater again.

Just another shot of Solar Flare; everything is running fine with this coaster.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u4s6.jpg
It may be a little difficult to tell, but the supports on Solar Flare have been streamlined a little bit.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u4s7.jpg
The lift supports on Huracàn have been tweaked slightly; there aren't as many points that are connected to the track.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u4s8.jpg
The BeachHouse has gotten a new head chef; his style is a lot different than the previous chef's; expect to see a lot more Southwestern food coming out of the kitchen.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll116/infinit3blue/RollerCoaster%20Tycoon%203/Bayside%20Boardwalk/Season%204/s4u4s9.jpg
And the Boardwalk is still going strong; everyone seems to love the flat rides; but the SuperSoaker is strangely unpopular.

That is all I have right now; I know a video for Huracàn was promised, but our contract with the camera crew expired. We should have a video for you by next update. Thanks for taking a look!

Thats an awsome coaster! It looks sooooo realstic in the 3rd pic! I love it! I'm looking forward to seeing the developments in the future years!
Thanks! I really did try to make this coaster very realistic.

I'm really not fond of the over detailing along the supports, it just looks over done. The layout looks wonderful tho!
I'm glad you like the layout! I really wanted it to be a good one, since this park really needed another blockbuster ride. With the supports, they really look like that on the two real Mega-Lites; I was trying to get that feeling in the game.

^I agree. There's an overdone that looks realistic, and then there's an overdone that looks like random pipes everywhere. This is a mix between the two levels. But still, at least you put the effort in to do them!

The layout is great. Looks like an exciting ride from start to finish. I really need to make a CTR like you did for it. The Storm Runner just doesn't provide enough turns. The scenery is also really nice.

Great job!
Thanks! You'd be surprised at how exciting it really is, especially when you ride it. The scenery comes really close to the track, and it's actually quite fast.

I'll make sure to check this out mmore often. ;)
Shame on you for missing this! Just kidding. I'm glad you like it! As for the StormRunnner cars on Huracàn, I really just used them because they looked a little better on the track than the Giga coaster cars did; they're a bit smaller.

Looks amazing again, love all the tropical feeling. I don't think the supports are over done, they look fine.
Thanks very much! I'm glad the tropical feeling is getting through; it's really hard to get that right, at least for me.

Thanks! The water effects have since been toned down, so don't worry about it.

Huracan looks great! Love those turns, specially that one over the water.

Just one minor detail, I think you've missed an ingame suport, just look at the 4th pic. ;)
Thanks! And thanks for pointing that out; I got rid of it.

i adore the station building and the terraforming and effects on huracan are awesome!

I would like to know how you got a Hershey storm runner to have a chain lift?
I used the CTR editor to put the StormRunner cars on the Giga coaster track.

WoooooW, Huracan looks better than Maverick!!!!
BTW, where did you get those palm trees from in your first pics?
Thanks! And I believe those trees are from Old-Spice's Tree expansion CS set.

wow hurricane is very cool!
Thanks!

This park is really beautifull, very reallive looking and amazing logowork too.
The coasters and rides look awesome too and I can't wait to see another update.

The theatre is amazing, it really looks very modern and I absolutely love it. Very repetetive and tight, I love it. Which glass set is that which you are using btw?

I don't think that the theatre looks weird in the park; I agree with you that it has it's own style, but I actually like it.
The Roof Top Robot - is it the elevator that brings you on the top of the theatre building or what? The idea of having an observation deck there is absolutely brilliant, I think - you get some nice views of Huracán ;)

Very nice job you have done. I do like the theater even though it may seem out of place. I like how you have included live entertainment for it.

This park is really coming along! The buildings are very unique, somewhat contemporary. It's a nice mix with the more traditional buildings.

Is there another way how you could make SuperSoaker popular again ie change the layout of it, because to me the boardwalk looks empty all the time and i would think a change in layout for the coaster would be better.

Plus your park still looks amazing.
