The Atari Mafia (RPG)(prep)

I have wanted to make an RPG for a while. I got the go-ahead from TIM, and now here is my idea. The purpose of this thread is to set ourselves up before the rpg starts.

The Atari Mafia

This isn't your typical "create a character and narrate" RPG. You are yourself. The name comes from the Italian crime organization popularized by such films as "The Godfather". I have found the Italian Mafia an interesting subject and came up with an idea.

The way this works

Members can create and join "families", which will be named after the founding member: "The RK94 Family". Whether or not you can form a family is determined by post count. If you have 3,000+ posts, you can become a "Don" and allow others to join your family. Everyone who joins a family starts at the lowest rank.

The game is played like this: After all the families are formed, members can begin doing each other "favors", which are tasks assigned by a Don to a lower member. Tasks are mostly forum related, such as "make me an avatar" or "bump my thread so I can post". Completing the favor will earn you a Favor Point. After 5 Favor Points are earned, you may advance a rank. The goal is to be able to form your own family, or maintain your own.

Inciting a war with another family

If you have a valid reason, you may war with another family. A war is determined by point value (see below for specifics) count. Whichever family has the most points between all their members ranks wins. The result is that all members of the other family bieng lowered by 1 favor point. If a family wishes, they may enter a war and add their points to either of the current waring families. I may also support any family I wish with my point count (I have the boss's count of 16).
The Ranks

Advancing the ranks is your goal, and you need favor points to do it, so be willing to follow orders. Each rank can only have a certain # of members in that position, as detailed below.

1. Soldier- 1 point
2. Captain- 2 ponts- only 3
3. Underboss- 4 points- only 2
4. advisor- 8 points- only 1
5. boss- 16 points- only 1

My Role

I am the Godfather; the highest ranking Don. All things flow through me. I can grant favor points, or take them away for breaking the rules.

The Rules

Breaking any rule results in the loss of a favor point or further action as deemed appropriate by the mods.

1. All Atari rules apply
2. There will be no tolerence for requests or references to real crimes, drug refrences or other such items
3. You must refer to me or the other Dons as such: "Don Blue Cup"
4. You cannot declare war without a valid reason. The winner will be declared by me.
5.If you can split from your current family, you must get permission from either your specific Don or myself.
6. If you cannot get at least 2 members to join your family, you must join another.
7. only 10 members per family including the boss
8. Have fun:)

I've actually seen the comparison, not by a whole much.

for Uomini D'onore, it doesn't really mean soldier. Soldato means soldier. You could also have it as lo'uomo d'affari, which means the business man.

Consigliere is correct;)

Sotto Capo is correct;) ( Though the english translation isn't one word, like you have it in your post )

You messed up with captain though. You could have it as comandante di gruppo, which means group captain; or you could have capitano, which means (sports) captain. It is your choice.

I know it's already been explained, but, each month there are only allowed to be 2 RPG's open, and they need permission from Tim to open a new Prep thread, and then Tim will see when there's an open month and they'll get that month.

We have Perma-noobs over here, though. They can be here for a year and you'd still want to kill them.
