Cannot get patch to work - Vista

hello - last night i installed Silverfall and must say i am totally addicted. i am so glad i did not heed many of the reviews of the game. true the camera is the biggest issue - but i understand this has been resolved in earth awakenings.

my concern however is the patch. i downloaded 1.17 last night and when i went to run it i simply saw a black window flash (like the DOS scrren) then nothing. i waiting in case it was running in the background - then later restarted the game and it still said veersion 1.15.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated as i would certainly prefer to used the patched version of the game.

Sounds like a common problem for Vista users, unfortunately I don't have a general solution. My only advice is to use administrative rights when installing and patching (and playing) the game and to disable any unnecessary background programs for testing if possible (like firewall, antivir, chat programs, emu-software, RegCleaner etc.).

ok - thanks i will try that even for the patch. the only way i could instal the game was to use admin rights and turn off a few programs - didnt think i would have to for the patch.

am about to receive a new laptop running vista 64 ultimate - i am really hoping i can get this game to run on 64 as it will be replacing my desktop. would hat to miss out on such a great game and the expansion.
