Wow, nobody's ever done the entire model before. It looks amazing!

nice work but you know the fact that you need to keep it low poly? It means to have as less faces as possible.
Like the first picture, that curve above the entrance (the small light colored one), the curved line could be like 6 or 7 lines.
And than I hope you grouped every texture as 1 group?
Nice work but there's much to learn ;)
And sirious, do it, I think my comp will crash at this object, he did it once before on a less big and less complex object so..

Looks great but just a few tips.
-1 resize those pictures. Use the shot tags instead of the img tags. So it looks like [shot]http://yourpictureurlhere.com[/shot*] instead of [img]http://yourpictureurlhere.com[/img*]. Just without the asterisks.
-Second make sure all of those textures are a power of 2 or you can't import it into RCT 3. Check here for powers of 2 LINK (http://chortle.ccsu.edu/AssemblyTutorial/Chapter-06/ass06_14.html)
-Use alpha (look it up) textures to reduce the amount of polys you have. Right now there are a lot. Do them for railings, lettering (alpha sandwich), Use textures for details instead of modeling them. It saves polys and will help out with lag.
So basically don't over do it and use textures to show detail. The top of the building just needs to be a texture, not modeled. And resize those pictures.

I bet it has over 200,000 polygons. That's a number everyone can reach who first starts modelling and then reads tutorials.

Thank you for your messages. It will of course remove the shadows and the polys I would post here I am on the 360 textures to one.
I am 297 polys
Ckef01
03-29-2009, 02:17 PM
Shadow doesn't matter, doesn't do a thing with rct3, 360x360 IS NOT a power of two.
And 297 polys simply is impossible, doesn't matter what you say that is just impossible, only those letters should be somewhat 1000, all these curves in windows, little lamps, entrances, roofs and all these little detail, I think that's more then 300.000 polys or whatever, but definitely more then 297, or 1000, or 10.000.
You probably look at the wrong place, if you export it as ASE you can see the polycount..

Where I can see the number of polys ?
Rct3Mike
03-29-2009, 02:23 PM
You probably never exported anything before...
Its best to start with basics, like a cube. Then move on to learning other things like alphas and texture styles.
Ligestio
03-29-2009, 02:25 PM
I have already exported many cubes.
How to light with sketchup for lamps and the sign ?
Ckef01
03-29-2009, 02:31 PM
I hope with succes in rct3.. and now try alpha, different texture styles, lamps, recolorable, particle effects, stuff that needs a vendor, benches, bins, terrain conforming, billboards and on and on..
THAN you may have enough experience to do a object that's this huge, and come on you really need to learn about polys, you think rct3 can hold this massive object?....
btw, do you actually know what a ASE is?

I could've sworn that I have the exact same model on my computer downloaded off of towerofterror.org.

It is created myself and nobody else.

I'm not a moron, this was created by Tower maniac on the TowerofTerror.org forums. I have it myself.

Lets just report it and not let it get horrible like last time
You even used the same scenes that were set as your preveiw photos. Sorry but just for fun the exact poly count is 107,193

In fact it is a boyfriend who did not export it and asked him to do.
I thought he had done himself, but actually not. I am much disappointed by this news.
For the tot even if it was not my tot I'll still try in the exporter.

By your very questions, you didn't have the skills to do this, then once confronted, a boyfriend gave it to you? What's the next story we'll hear?
This is the official RCT 3 forum and we take a VERY dim view of copyright theft. You can either continue here by confession and apology, which I'll give you time to do. OR you can continue the charade and be barred from here forever.

you just need to do all with layers :D
1 layer for the sign,
1 layer for the entrace and etc. and then put them all togeter at th game!
btw, This model is the ultimate model of tot!

Accepted, in the future, if anyone gives you something or you didn't make it, research it, OR give credit.
To the rest of you, here's the link to the model made by audoman in Oct. 2007: http://audoman2607.deviantart.com/art/DCA-3D-Model-quot-Ride-Version-quot-68668627

^ If you got permission from the owner from the tower (who ever it is, you should get permission), you may do it but you should give credits to him/her for the model.
And man :haha: :haha: nice work man:

The model is way to high poly for rct3. It has too many textures for it to work. Plus you would have to get permission from the creator and gie him credits.
TheSkipper
03-29-2009, 04:36 PM
The model is free to use for all. He's gtanted permission to use by making it available.
But it's expected that the users won't take credit for it and will credit the maker. Most importantly use of it is at user risk that it could crash game due to size.
TheChicosAStar
03-29-2009, 04:43 PM
249 different textures (meshes)
107,193 polys
Ligestio
03-29-2009, 04:48 PM
I can edit it by putting the light?
Ckef01
03-29-2009, 04:48 PM
^^ aargh, not higher then 300.000, I think I need to work on my estimate skills :p
Anyway that won't work in rct3, it'll definitely crash.. and 249 different textures ?!?, I've respect for the creator of that..
^ what exactly do you mean?
TheSkipper
03-29-2009, 11:28 PM
What you use you can edit, but that just makes the edit yours, not the model.

It's really useful when you're creating a park with this attraction, and you build the different theme-zones in different park files!

Ligestio no matter what dont release this. ! you can never ever reduce this to enough polys without ruining the building completely. then it would be easier to build a new building.
The only thing you will get is alot of complaints about people saying it maybe not crashes the game but give a horrible lag.
TheChicosAStar
04-05-2009, 03:00 AM
Only thing I would say is move it to Blender and uv-map it but then it would still be too many polys.

Seriously, Make your own.
Think about it, when... Wait, IF you get it imported, what Then? what are you going to do with the building? you cant put a ride in it. or light it (objects can only be lit by 5 or 6 lights) and then you have to scale it. and after all that work you end up with a useless HIGH poly object with 30:haha: Textures.
not a good idea if you ask me ;)
do what you want tho, i wont DL it, and all these people who think its great will BUT be disappointed because of lag and uselessness.

^Wow, extremely well put... Ive been thinking about how to say that since I first saw this project. Summed up:
Ligestio,
If you want to make something, Make it useful, Make it work, and Make sure its YOURS
I dont think anyone who knows anything about good cs would DL this:down:
