Ok so i recently started making a park called Tijuana flats park ( made after the awesome resteraunt).

Anyways, I decided to start designing custom scenery for it, and if it works out ok ill release it.

So heres some stuff if made with free version of Google Sketchup:

No way! I had an idea to make a Tijuana Flats-themed park a while ago, but I never went through with it. Great idea, though. :)

However, I suggest that you use textures as opposed to drawing the shapes (take the faces for example) as it will save you polys. I know nothing really about custom scenery, but I know that the more faces you have, the more the game lags... which isn't good.

EDIT:

You might want to use dispensers to make it more accurate...

yeah i got the idea for the park today while eating at one:D

anyways im still trying to figure out the textures...

ill attempt that sign in the background right now :)

wow watch those faces. that sign is over or nearly 1000 faces, when you use that text type. And if you made those bottles more like a polygon they would also be lower. if you use circle tool and you didnt change the number of sides each bottle is 92 faces.

I would make the text an alpha sandwich. Anyway every single item is way too poly heavy. Never use the "draw circle" tool, since each circle has 20 faces. Also make sure you are using textures whose pixels are a power of two (256x256, 512x512...) and are not textures that came with Sketchup. Also instead of drawing those red yellow and green stripe things on with shapes, I'd suggest making it a part of the texture to keep the polys down. (High-Poly=Lag)

btw, instead of drawing it out, i want to use custom textures. Anyone know where i could get some for tijuana flats?

You can cut down on the polys with alphas and textures
