Not that I know of, You must re make them. Normally you keep a back up of the model in skp form. and then export as ASE. OVL is just the outtake of texture's model's and setting's. You just re make them if you mess up, but if it is the model itself, then you must re make the model.

wouldnt you just need to make a empty group in sketchup?
you dont need to put the original ovls in sketchup as you dont need to model do you?

No you don't make ovl's in skp, just in the importer. As I said an ovl is just the outtake of the models/texture's/settings, used by rct3 to display the items as a group. That's just my basic take on it.
Invisible inclusures are tough, you would have to edit the ovls manually most likely which i do not know how to do, giving the enclosures are not a style ovl. I am not to sure how to make ovls that are not of the style theme type. I tried discussing this with Vodhin over making path's actually come up and place like in game one's but even Vodhin came up short on how to manually edit ovl's. Belgabor did this with the invisible one's but I have yet to hear anything from him on the edit process.

I think you can edit the fences, but then you need to replace the texture, so you lose the old fence (that's actually a good thing :p )
Kinda the same thing as the texture replacement from a coaster, sr3d's tutorial, you can try that on the enclosures, and than change it to alpha with a black alpha map (look in a file that uses alpha to discover how to do that).

Actually, they would need to contain every possible piece i.e. sloped at different degrees, the safari train gates(animated) corner pieces, straights etc.

Yep, like a path has to contain, straight, left, right, slope up,slope down, stairs up, stairs down.

^^ You wouldn't need all the sloped pieces (for a fence) as you would just choose to have conforming pieces.

yeah, i was wondering if you set the textures in sketchup or the importer?

ckef: how would i edit the fences?

Not true, you won't have to do different degrees as the piece is terrain conforming, to be exact, you need to do these pieces:

Straight
Stub
Corner
CornerI
Edge
End
Full
Gate
ViewLeft
ViewMid
ViewRight

Just look in your RCT3 directory\Enclosures\Fences\whatever you want
I don't know where some pieces are for too (like Stub or Edge) but you can't just leave it, I guess :p

See post #51 for his tutorial on changing the texture from a coaster. (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10226228&postcount=51)

You could try this on the enclosure files, but than you only need to make an alpha map, no need to change the normal texture (if you want to check the whole thread, try This (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=637505&page=2) link)

If you want the fence to be completely invisible, you will likely need to edit the texture style in the .common ovls. It's a lot like using a hex editor to change cars to different tracks, only you are changing the texture style. The same rules apply. The text must be the same length, you can use a null character (00) to fill in extra letters.
Good luck deleting the fences or patching them. :p

Check out my new thread :)
Does exactly this
I didnt want to announce it before because it had to be cleared with the mods first :)
But you can now take any Object from the game back into Sketchup (It requires a plugin and some 3rd party software)
But it takes all textures and all 3d models from the game scene back into a 3dr format which can be imported into 3dsmax, it can also be made into obj format (which can be imported into sketchup)
