This is a reset on a project I started some time ago. Much of my RCT3 play halted for some time, if you are curious you may ask and I may tell you.
I have restarted this project and therefore I am starting a new thread. The original was here:http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=628211&highlight=grand+valley
These are all new screen shots.

I love the tressel you created! All of this looks very nice except The Wild!'s supports seem a bit lack luster.

I know I want to see more! That woodie is gorgeous!
I love how your paths are laid out between the rides. I'm always jealous of those who can build on the diagonal.
Keep on with the pictures! This is the kind of stuff I like to see in the Park threads!

Rather than PMs to different people I will just explain here
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0101.jpg
Most of the paths are in game texture or pavement with Aceana's Pavement Essential Extended pack with the stone path specifically used along both sides.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0102.jpg
The brick paths are in game ground texture with Belgabor's invisible path tiles. In this shot you can see two of eeZee's haunted mansion covers also
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0103.jpg
This gives more variety and still allows for paths that will allow shadows to be cast increasing the realism of the park
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0104.jpg
I change variations of the same idea to create different looks for various areas but it is the same basic idea.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0105.jpg
Most of the fences are DasMatze fences. The brick landscape walls are from eeZee haunted mansion set they are wall pieces used as landscape walls.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0106.jpg
DasMatze instant wood used in combo with in game and various other custom trees
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0107.jpg
I make use of several of ShyGuys covers and some from Xistics Cafe set inside the buildings.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0108.jpg
Or Belgabor's invisible paths with various custom covers.

I'm going to find something to nitpick, but that's how I roll.. ;) The T-Supports holding up the dive loops/immelmans on Hurikan look a bit ridiculous. There's just too much vertical there between track and the meat of the support. I think you could come up with something a lot better than that (and a bit further down the track) with Moby's Steel Jungle.
A bit more like how Sheikra's is supported would look a million times better.
http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p11703.jpg
It's kinda hard to tell where those supports lie, and hopefully an adjustment to them now wouldn't kill everything below.
Everything else is simply gorgeous. And kudos for taking a request such as what CS you're using as an opportunity to show off more pics. Checkmate, my good sir! ;)
The supports on Bobcat are absolutely stunning to look at. The geometry created in there just keeps me looking through the structure.  What set are you using for that?
EDIT: And are you attaching the woodie supports to the outside of the game-created supports, or are they completely custom?
KiDFoX
04-09-2009, 01:34 AM
I will look at the dive machine supports, you are right it would look better with some changes but I am not sure you will see any screens of changes. The park is so dense with scenery the current version does not allow screens anymore even with my upgraded machine.
These shots are from an earlier version that is probably about 90% complete.http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0067.jpg
Bobcat was fully custom supported but due to problems such as the park no longer opening I want back in and re built the supports so that they are now in addition to in-game supports so anywhere the game would place supports I did not do custom supports in general, this was only to allow me to complete the park.

http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0071.jpg

And with the changes...
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0073.jpg
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0074.jpg
I will probably build this as a ride project once this park is fully complete because it looked so much better with the full custom supports.
Oh, and it is BigBurger's Timber 2.0 set for the supports also his footers.

Great to see this park back in action.
The woodie is really spectacular; the supports are so well done (it is very similar to maskedbandit's Menace). I also really like that glass filled wooden building that it is going through - very dominating and beautiful architecture.

Man this park is incredible the woodie looks like it could be an actual real wooden coaster from a park with such a flowing layout. And #2 it seems the coaster stands out well from far away, many people have trouble getting that right in some ways. The way you try to make the paths not look blocky but curvey or going dianglular. The buildingings are simple but fit well with some details. The only thing I hate right now is the wild entrance sign, it looks to tribal and also looks like it could topple over from 50mph+ winds.

I'm going to agree with almost everything Plokoon says.. except that I really like the entrance to Wild.. yeah it does sort of look Tribalish... but it really stands out it was the first thing that really caught my eye in a "WOW" moment. The woody looks absolutely gorgeous... and I love what you did with the BBQ place.. especially the inside.. so much detail on that stage with the lights and speakers

looks perfect !!!!
fantastic !
That has to be one of the best wooden coaster layouts I've EVER seen. It's so smooth and flowing, and fits naturally with the area around it. I especially love the Renegade-type drop (Well, other than it keeps curving towards the end of the drop!). Kudos to you for making such a beautiful ride. Everything else in the park is pretty top notch too!

Looking great the entrance is small but grand. I like how your not afraid to use in game scenery with the CS, many people these days think that they always have to use all CS because everyone else will.

When I took this park over my challenge to myself was to try and keep the coasters and only make some modifications where needed. I have mostly been successful at that and only deleted two coasters that I just couldn't make fit with what i was doing in the park.
One that almost got cut was the roller soaker. Eventually I reworked the layout a bit and decided to keep it but I wanted it themed if it was going to stay so I came up with a simple concept called Rain Maker.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0121.jpg
The idea that it is sort of an oddball cloud seeding machine cooked up by some crazy inventor to try and make it rain.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0122.jpg
Water, mist and static electricity are the elements
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0123.jpg
It is a simple concept but one that gave the ride some character
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0124.jpg
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0125.jpg
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0126.jpg
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0127.jpg
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0128.jpg
All the ride queues and paths have been totally reworked and I actually added more water cannons than were in the park originally.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0129.jpg
I played around with custom supports but everything I tried looked worse than the in game supports so ultimately I deleted all the custom supports and said to heck with it. Might be best as full of scenery as this park is.

What's that white building peeking in from the left on that pic? A gazebo of some sort?

I had planned to have a restaurant here for some time but change the original idea a bit to include a place that could have entertainment as well as food. Attached to the building is also a shooting gallery which was not complete in the version of the park I can still take screen shots in.
http://www.foxsystems.com/images/rct/gv/gv0058.jpg
Sort of based on Famous Dave's BBQ and Blues in Minneapolis but smaller and the pig is my own character, yes that is my original art work isn't it great?

I am close to calling this one as complete as it will get, I think I have pushed things as far as the system will take. It is probably 98% complete per the original plan which isn't bad at all. I think I can get it to 99%.

Amazing! I completely love the interior of the restaurant. The one thing I would say is the roof over the entrance seems a little low, as if you would have to duck to get in. And thanks for saying where the lights are from. :)

WOAH! Just fantastic work here! I loved the old one, and this one look just as good as the original. (better actually) The lighting just blows me away. So many parks that look good in the day look horrible at night, but you've mastered the lighting.
