Importer documentation?

Hello,

Sorry if I've been blind, but I have run out of hours in my life I'm willing to give searching anymore. :)

I've found scattered bits and pieces explaining a few simple import options, but where is the on going docs that explain how to use the features and sections of the importer?

I see options to do a bunch of cool stuff, but no way to learn to use it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D
