So yeah, I downloaded some custom scenery online, and most worked in my RcT3... except this one. its called screamworx, made by Jcat, and although most of the scenery works, the one wall torch causes my game to stop working. So, I tried to not use it anymore, but I realized that the scenery messed up my game when I tried to save and play it again (or thats what i think is whats causing it). So, I tried to uninstall it by going into the programs folder, RCT3, style, themed, that kind of stuff where the scenery's installed, and deleted it. Yet it still appeared in my game, and I think is making the problem that I had for a month now. but it wasnt in my themed folder anymore. So I thought if i installed it again and unintalled it, then it would unistall all components, and it would go away. So I used the automatic extractor for Jcats screamworx, but when I browsed for the themed folder, I found Jcats screamworx still there! but it doesnt appear when I look for it in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed

please help.

You already tacked this onto a year old thread, and since CS is NOT made by the game dev, this doesn't belong in tech.
Download and use of any C S is at your own risk, you have to read and undersatand how to install and how to remove.

I've Had This Problem Too, Choose "Compatibility Files" In The Style/Themed Fold And You Should See Screamworx There Too, And Delete That One

^ What is this compatibility folder? There's nothing like that in my Themed folder. Is this something unique to Mac PCs?

You're not alone with this kind of problem.

If you use only the game uninstaller, it will leave the CS sets, custom particle effects and other custom stuff behind in their folders. If you re-installed to the same drive and folder, the CS goes along for the ride, but it should show up in the game anyway.

I had a (SID) problem with one CS set and, like you, I deleted it, but the thing still showed in the game menu and crash the game. How can that be? Did it leave behind some imprint on the game mechanics or what? Ultimately, the only way I got around that was to reinstall the whole works. Sometimes it's better to just go around the problem than to solve what looks like an unsolvable problem, but maybe someone here knows the solution. Good luck.

thanx for all your help, guys. you really helped me with this problem, cause i felt uncomfortable with TWO versions of the same scenery in my scenery list. yet, it wasn't the problem to my unexpected exits every time I save and click on the scenery icon, but now i know that some files are stored as compatibility files, and i have to find them in the virtual store. anyway, youve been a big help, and you post so quick! I only made this thread today! one more thing: I am new here, so don't be thinking that I should know this and that, cause I didn't read anything. so yeah, thanks.

I guess I posted a bit too early. I had 2 copies of the wallset, and I only deleted 1 of them, which was the most visible. I posted right when I deleted the first one, so the game still couldnt load scenery properly. but when I found and deleted the same set in a different file...
KAPOW!!!
it worked perfectly when I played it. The game saved and let me build scenery!!! OMG thanx guys, youve really been a great help to me, and Ill try to avoid posting in tech support, and maybe something else more useful with my time. just wanted to give you my gratitude... again.
