Hello! I just purchased riddick: AODA, and of course, it wont even activate. I am getting pretty upset as I just threw down fifty dollars and cant even play a game ive been eagerly anticipating. I enter my cd key and then it always says server communication error, existing connection was forcilby closed by the remote host. I am really getting upset here. Atari seems to offer zero support for the game on their website even though the manual has "atarisupport.com" all over it. Someone please help me!

I'm having the same problem- just getting the same stupid message about server forcibly closing. tried the other link via http - keep getting a blank page with TOTALLY NOTHING ON IT. Tried that several times with no luck - went back and tried the server after that and guess what - I reached my three limit activation - states I need to contact atari - god only knows how I do that as the support web site doesn't give a f****n #. If any one knows how to correct this I'd also like to know. How about atari support are we going to get an answer?:mad::mad:

Atari email support doesn't exist, even if you do find an email.

212-726-6500 Is the New York office number, they can usually direct you. The search on these forums has been broken for months so I can't dig up the support number used for when Atari pulled this SecuRom crap on the Test Drive fans.
Be warned, posts have come back saying they aren't friendly or overly helpful on the phone, just like email.

YES! i am glad someone else is having this problem. well not glad, but somewhat relieved that it is not just me. i received an e-mail response from an atari tech who said to disable my windows firewall (like i hadnt tried that already) and try to bypass the router, which i had also tried. no dice! this is really freaking frustrating, as I had always thought atari was a respectable company that offered quality support! Please keep me posted if anyone finds a solution (other than downloading a crack)

Horsex I'm not sure what I did but I tried the server again before giving up and whaddaya know... it activated( even after it told me I reached my activation limit). I'm wondering if the activation servers are so overloaded with people trying to activate that the servers just cant handle it.

Solution:

Return this game to the store and never buy any more games that require an internet connection.

well..... i finally got the game to activate, repeated attempts when connected directly to my modem finally worked. well done atari. now on to starbreeze, because the game refuses to launch and gives me an error about some sort of wavecontainer sound abnormality. this is really nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i regret telling all of my friends how great the first game was, and insisting that they purchase it! now i look like an idiot.

i'm so ****ing pissed I want to ... yeah (i dont want to get sued):mad::mad::mad: I just bought this piece of **** game for 57 USD (7 dollars shipping) to sweden - digital download. And this **** tells me the ****ing serial key is wrong?

something like "requesting server access, wrong serial key"

If you wont give me a new serial number, you WILL refund me the money ASAP.

Atari, thanks for providing the worst service in the world, not only does your piece of **** product come with DRM, but you gave me a wrong serial key.

You better respond to me asap

Last time I ever used your online store:down::down::down::down::down::down::down:

OK, how wonderful is Atari´s support. Tell me how it is that I know the answer to these problems?

Easy answer about the connection forcibly closing is that you have tried more than 5 times an incorrect or burned out serial number.

Guys tell me what was the first error message you had before having the " an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

Finally got it to work, this is the last time atari will have my money, I don't care about their DRM or anything else, but not being able to play THE ACTUAL MTF PRODUCT you paid for is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

if anyone else is having the same issues, disconnect your router/fw completly, and use the ethernetcable instead and try the same procedure 99999999 times, and hopefully it will work.

This is my last post on this forum

This is because TAGES server banned your IP because you tried many times.

When you unplugged your modem, you changed your IP so you were able to try again. This time you entered the KEY correctly and it worked. Which leads me to think than the only one to blame in the first situation is YOU.

You surely can´t expect a game to activate if you put the KEY wrongly can you?

Other topic is shameless Atari who doesn´t warn consumers about DRM, and uses a non-revocable system when TAGES has a revoke authorizations system that works wonders.

You Atari, are the only one to blame for this

I'm not stupid okay? I used the same ****ing serial atari gave me through visa. I used copy and paste so theres no way in hell I used the wrong number. And my ip is the same ONE ive had all along, thats how my setup works. I didn't resolve my ip (no coaxial input) I only switched the input to go through my cable instead of my linux router, so your ip theory is wrong.

Once more the serial was the same one Atari gave (copy and paste) okay? I dunno about your modem, but my cable modem doesnt resolve a new ip everytime I change ethernet cables, I realise you just want to help, but i
m the one who did the right thing .. okay? TAGES/ATARI whos the blame?

Theres over 4-5 users with the EXACT same issues like me, obviously it's not user related.

Anyone having similar issues, it's not your own fault, blame it on ATARI/TAGES

Then something´s wrong here. Mail Atari support demanding your IP to be unbanned, and that they order TAGES support your code to work

nah it's cool Sblad, the game is finally working for me, I sent a "friendly" email to atari or w/e (finding the right email on this site is pure hell) explaining what a great service they provide.

if I should need a new code in the future I will contact atari, but hopefully that wont be the case.

have a nice day sir

There is a support website at http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm?page=activation.htm and a support email address: activsup@tagesprotection.com

That's the bill you have to pay for buying games using such ridiculous copy protection. Stop supporting companies using invasive copy protection systems and they'll start to realize we don't agree with this kind of copy protection.
