Hi,

I installed a store-bought version of the game and when I try to launch it, a popup window appears saying "Hidden Install" with the clickable options to either 'Skip', 'Deny', or 'Add to trusted content'. Whether I click 'skip' or 'deny' I will automatically get another popup window saying a trojan virus attack is detected. What is going on? The details said that the "hidden install" is similar to a trojan, but I only double-clicked the game icon to start it. Does anyone know of a potential fix to this issue? I have tried turning off my firewall and restarting before starting up the game again, but those don't work. I am not adding it to the trusted content because I don't know if it's a real trojan or not. In fact, when I get the trojan message, I can either 'skip' or 'rollback', and so I rollback thinking it will eliminate the threat. My avp then supposedly deletes the file infection, but the quarantine fails, and my computer comes to a halt so that I cannot do anything until I restart my system. Any info or possible steps to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

If you bought an official retail version of the game (SF or EA) in a shop it should not contain any viruses etc.

However, my recommendation is to contact the support of your anti-virus software, they can tell you if it's a false alarm.

I bought the game at Big Lots (discount dept. store) for $6.00. I thought that might be the problem, but it was in the same case you find it at Target or elsewhere for $20.00. Thanks for the advice, I'll check with my avp software support.
