The movie which the SFMM GCI wooden coaster was tied-in for, just made itself a box office dissapointment. With a cost of 200M,it seems like it can only muster 60% (or less) of that domestic, turning in a huge loss.

If the movie fails, the ride usually doesn`t end up well.Dick Tracy`s Crime Stoppers was cancelled due to the film`s not so succesful run,and after Atlantis:The Lost Empire flopped,Disney shelved all current plans for attractions based on the movie.

Could Six Flags soon drop the Terminator name for the ride in the coming seasons? It`s novelty will wore off due to the film`s negative reception.I expect that Terminator Salvation:The Ride will no longer keep the name in a few years.

It was a terrible name for the ride in the first place, You dont think wooden coaster when you hear Terminator: Salvation. It sounds like a a big huge steel coaster.

They'll keep it till a year or so after DVD release I think.

Doubt it. The Terminator franchise isn't done yet and it still has a legacy of legendary movies.

It won't be changing.

If it does change, it will change for the next Terminator movie, as Salvation was only made to tie up loose ends before the 5th Terminator came out with a fresh plotline.

Your examples are pretty bad because none of those rides were physically constructed yet. Terminator is already here, it will stay because Terminator franchise is alive and strong.

I could see it changing, simply becuse it is a horrid name. However, Six Flags has a penchant for horrid names (don't they have a waterslide named "Wedgie" or something?), so nevermind...

Sure is a heck of a lot better then Flight Deck.

^ And Drop Tower. But back on topic, I really think that they will keep the name because of all the new teminator movies that are going to come out. Like what they did with Batman.

Or Afterburn, for that matter. Oh joy, it's Afterburn, the heartburn medication ride!
