For animation i mean, it looks cool, not much idea on how it workds but is it possible to animate in it and then import with it? I say becuase im also looking for something easyier than blender.

P.s-I wasnt sure on where to put this so i put it here. ;)

^^agree, blender really isnt peep friendly. i have milkshape, blender, and sketchup, and sketchup seems to be the most easiest modeling program to use. i open the other two programs and and i am totally like, ok now what? lol yeah, i too would like to see something made for us sketchup users. thanks if anybody can figure out a way to do this.

Well animation is possible for sketchup using the xml maker but it is a lot of effort. Basically you need to make lots of models for every movement and then the xml maker compiles it all into one animated file. I have not yet had time to play with the xml maker but that's what I have heard.

Yeah if only could make programe could covertor the animation from sketchup so import can handle it better .

I mean X's XML maker is good programe but could been better programe if had more time to tweek it .

I hope update xml sometime in the near future it nice programe but could use better interface and easyer way to do animation.

I use milkshape for animation.

It's nowhere near as hard to learn as blender, and the importer understand the ms3d files without all that converting stuff. just import the model and set up your LODs.

MS makes importing animations nearly painless. and I've imported a Lot of animations lately LOL

Maybe you should make tutorial on MS for new people doing aniimation with MS and don't you got to use joint's in ms to so you can do animmation.

Why make a tutorial? Learn it on you're own. Everyone else must learn stuff on their own..I do not understand this..MS is very easy to learn and animation is just as simple once you learn the basics of the program, and how RCT3 understands the information. Read on Vodhins pages..He has made a very nifty guide to most of this..

Reason being some people learn better from video than from writing tutorial . because see ever step goes on in writing let head visual it some time in mind for people like me.

Sorry, I don't consider myself stupid at all, but I found MilkShape extremely hard to grasp, and while Vodhin's tutorials are great, they assume a fairly high level of familiarity with the program, something I don't have. The same can be said of Blender and other programs. SketchUp was one program I did pick up, mainly because of surfingoz, coasterfreak and other's video tutorials.

Just because someone was able to pick it up easily doesn't mean that others will have the same ease, nor does it infer that they are dumb or too lazy to read a tutorial. I'm like coasterfreak, I learn things much easier visually.

I must just be gifted at grasping things..I learned Sketchup easily, the XML maker, Blender, MS, and 3D max...I sometimes think that if I can do it others can as well..But maybe a video tutorial isnt all that bad..Saddly more people use sketchup so there is greatly more tutorials on it. I did do a few tutorials on Blender in writing, only because I have no Mic to record my voice..

^^ Tutorials are what makes a program popular. When people can learn how to do it in no time then they will use it. Most people like to know that it can be accomplished, seen as though blender for example does not have a huge amount of tutorials and help then it makes it hard for people to pick up. Now you have your tutorial going then maybe people will start to use it more often. Everything takes time.

I never planed on making a whole list of them, Just a few of the basics to make it seem not so " nuclear power plant" like learning..lol

Very true, I am not so much of a trooper as you have been with actually doing tutorials on every possible question for making CS with Sketchup. Good job for sticking it out.

well in the past i had loads of time to create cs with sketchup, now that i work full-time 8-12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, i dont have alot of time on my computer to learn and figure these things out on my own. life issues you know!? like wagi said we are not stupid people, just cant seem to grasp the concept yet....but we are not rocket scientist either. lol

A few weeks ago I started a Milkshape Tutorial thread for Q&A so I can gather more information to cover what's needed for a full-blown tutorial. It will not be a video tutorial, but I intend on adding pics and step by step instructions.

The thing is that everyone making custom scenery should fully read the RCT3 Release Notes (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=181524) found on the Importer's download home page. There's a whole lot of information about what program does what and how to do it.
