After years of playing RCT3, I've finally started to create my own cs. :D I've tried to import with success, but I still need to improve a little....
But anyway... A set which I think we are missing is a Mexico styled one, so I've started making it.

Thing things I have in mind to bring into this set is following (the ones written with italic is the parts I've created so far):

4H wall
4H half tile wall
4H diagonal wall
4H half tile diagonal wall
4H window wall
4H diagonal window wall
3H wall
3H half tile wall
3H diagonal wall
3H half tile diagonal wall
3H window wall
3H diagonal window wall
2H wall
2H half tile wall
2H diagonal wall
2H half tile diagonal wall
1H wall
1H half tile wall
1H diagonal wall
1H half tile diagonal wall
1H dirty bottom wall
1H diagonal dirty bottom wall
1H half tile dirty bottom wall
1H half tile diagonal dirty bottom wall
4H and 3H arch entrance
4H and 3H diagonal arch entrance
4H, 3H, 2H and 1H stone pillars
Flat stone roof
Flat diagonal stone roof
1H tile roof
1H diagonal tile roof
1H corner tile roof

Please come up with more ideas, but remember that this is a stucco set. I'm inspired by this http://media.photobucket.com/image/Mexico%20land%20i%20Djurs/stusimms/urf/urf_djurs08_03.jpg the building in the upper left corner.

An example of the 4H wall.
As you may see I have a small problem - how do I get rid of the weird line in the middle of the wall - it looks like the wall is divided in 2 different textures. :sour:

Finally you're doing a CS set. I can't wait to see more pics of it. It's great to see your first CS set is going to be a wall set. Walls can be used very often. And if you make them in much shapes (so diagonals too) they will be used very often. I think I like the texture.
Two suggestions:
- Maybe you could make the textures recolourable
- Maybe you could make round walls too, to make it more versitile

I would suggest taking the texture in photoshop and what ever size it is say for example it is 512x512 well goto filter and offset by 256x256 (half of the texture's native size). Now that will make it look REAL bad because you are taking the outside edges that do not tile, and putting them in the inside. Now you can take the "Heal" or "Clone Stamp" tool and grab different parts of the texture and cover up and blend the nasty lines in with the texture to make it appear very nice and seamless.. That is one way of doing so..Or you could just find a seamless texture to begin with. But if you are fixated on that texture...There is the way I do most of my work.

And if you do decide to edit it and make it you're own, and you want to do the "Clone Stamp" tool, make sure you grab selections from different spots on the texture, otherwise you will create more of a problem than you are originally trying to solve. Play with this and you will understand very quickly.

A wall set was the only thing I could think of + it's the easiest to make:rolleyes:
1. That should not be a problem, I think. I could make a red stucco and re-colourable version of this, if people are interested?
2. Great idea - I'll add this to the list..

I'm not insanely fixated on this specific texture; it was just the best red stucco, I could find. I have no idea to see if a texture is seamless or not, could you explain me a little more about this, and how I find seamless textures or create them myself?
But I'll plain around with the clone stamp tool and see if I can fix this.

Ahhh, well do an example here. For this well say we got a 512x512 texture, they always need to be square or powers of 2. So we have a 512 texture. To check if it is seamless..Make a 1024x1024. Copy and paste the original texture onto the larger one in the corners, should be able to fit 4 of them to make a larger square, if you see lines, it is not seamless. Thats how I check...

If you want I can help you make a texture for this. You can also goto "Google" and type in say Seamless stucco texture, and look in Images..Probly a 100 of them.

The only way to fix a texture and make it seamless is by eaither clone stamping or healing brush, you may even use some smudge and blur..It just takes alot of patients..And sometimes a texture cannot be made seamless if its to far off..

I think mine looks best :P but of course I would...I really do think just a plain type texture looks good...the black on the other one would be heavily noticed when stacked in the game. I could make you a variation of that stucco texture I gave to you, to make it appear dirty..

Maybe once you're done you could keep the models so that you could allow more people to create them with different textures?

I was wondering - how thick is standard walls such as for example catfish cove walls?

Will that be recolorable? You can make it greyscale and then remove the green and blue channels for color choice 1 and if you want it pink you can color it in game to pink.

This first version wont be re-colourable, but I might release it later (when I've imported this set)

Yes, I know that showing pictures of models aren't the most exciting thing ever, but I won't start importing stuff until every piece for the set is ready. But here's a thing that should be a little more interesting than a wall:

I like it so far, can never have too many wall variations to play with :)
