They work as speakers in the game!

The real life example: http://www.funktion-one.com/

My recreations so far:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/Friscko/funktiononerct.jpg
Stack of 5 R5E speakers, Stack of 3 R5E Speakers, Single R5E Speaker, Double Infrahorn

I've used them to make a few stages with performances around the park
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/Friscko/funktiononerctstage.jpg
(download the stage http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11286403#post11286403 )

the only thing i'm having some trouble with is the placement:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/Friscko/funktiononerctplacement.jpg
if anyone could help me out with the right settings for rct-importer so they are right next to the wall?

and I'm still having trouble finding where rct-importer installs my files, because they dont show up in style/themed or with searching on the name of it..
it's rct-importer v18 and i'm using vista.

Don't worry about the importer just worry about your model. When you first build your model move it backwards a little, then import it the way you normally do and just keep going through some trial and error.

Can't help with the rest but so far it looks good, nice job!!

loving this set ... =] will download as soon as its ready! :]
also,
Would it be possible to make these to fit in with your set?
http://www.thomann.de/gb/stairville_...oving_head.htm (http://www.thomann.de/gb/stairville_novaspot_250_moving_head.htm)
both floor mounted and cieling mounted on a quarter tile placement? maybe with 3 different animations?

it would be great if you could!!

@rctman12- i think those are suppose to be purple, i didnt see anything in the picture that look like he had the reverse side. Arontinnitus, i really like the speakers, do they actually work as real "loudspeakers?" if so, even better! great work, keep it going. i would like to see more of this set.

Very nice set so far. Are you also planning on making the AX88 and the AX8 speakers as well? those would be great for coaster stations and launch sections.

and flip the faces from purple to white good job though

It would be better in the importer to click from single sided to double sided.

Viscosity086
06-23-2009, 04:25 PM
You only use double sided in the importer when really necessary I believe when you use that, it is just about the same as having double the polygon count to you're model since RCT3 must render both sides now.

RedOctoberRCT3
06-25-2009, 06:02 AM
No ^^ Incorrect. It does not affect your polygon count whatsoever. It just tells the game to display both faces.

/\ Which tells the game to process more which then creates more lag.

arontinnitus
06-26-2009, 07:25 AM
@coasterfreak: they work as loudspeakers :)

@electric eyeball: was thinking of recreating the resolution1.5tt for that purpose..

and they are doublesided, when i installed them singlesided, they had pieces where you could see right through them.

I'm having trouble with the ones that are placed more back though, they give me a no :svd for :sid message, but the folders seem to be correct?

... I'm having trouble with the ones that are placed more back though, they give me a no :svd for :sid message, but the folders seem to be correct?

1. remove installed versions of the set before re-importing an update, just to make sure "all goes in as a new install" (re-importing does not remove items that you have deletded from the scenery list)

2. check that your SID settings do not have problems- Click File > Check For Problems to have the importer identify any incorrect data.

3. changing text names or icon reference names does not automatically update in the scenery list. You have to manually select the new name in the Scenery Item's Data

coasterfreak
06-27-2009, 01:35 PM
^^no i dont think you can make a speaker as a ride event. the import can only let you choose 1thing, either a (loudspeaker) or (ride event). if i am wrong then somebody tell me so...it would be cool though....maybe even ride event billboards!

i'm pretty sure it's not 1. I've imported the ones with the adjusted position as a new theme.

i'll give nr 2 and 3 a try when the weather here stops being good

Very Nice..
If you need some help to make a realistic setup, feel free to ask.
I am a user of these speakers and also have some for my own.

I hope you finish soon.

I've (finally) started working on it again.

I just finished the case for the downfill, still have to add the horns to it and apply textures.

Also I was considering making the speakers recolorable, but I don't really know how. A link to a good tutorial would be nice if anyone could help me out?

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/Friscko/r5edownfill.jpg
downfill is drawn.
still have to add textures and group them.
also have to tilt it a bit so the upside is horizontal, so that it can be put on the underside of a stack just like in real life..

@coasterfreak: I'm having trouble with the ones that are placed more back though, they give me a no :svd for :sid message, but the folders seem to be correct?

When you get the error is it when you try to open the theme in game? Or is it more specific like when you try and select a particular object? If it's the latter then the error message will tell you exactly which ovl is messed up. I just started at the top of the object list in game and slowly scrolled down the list and selected each object individually until I hit the one that wasn't working correctly. I had this problem recently because I was using multiple folders for my ovl's and accidentally deleted one of the folders, so the ovl could not be found. This set looks very nice though and I hope it's finished soon.

Also you can click here for the tutorial your looking for, as well as many others:

does anyone know what's the best way to make chains in sketchup?

i was thinking to use alpha textures?

just found some good pics from how the speakers are set up hanging and i'll need to make some chains for it..

Vin Blake

on a side note: try not to double post (check the 7 day rule sticky).

Really nice. I cant wait so see a complete Cluster like in my avantar.
4x5+Downfill would be the biggest RES5 Cluster.
The Colum-Hanger takes max. 250kg = 5 Speakers
For bigger Systems you need the RES9 on Top.

arontinnitus

i'm working on the support from which the whole stack hangs now, i'll try to make it fit with Klinn's Framework trusses and maybe also with the trusses in this (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489613) pack

after that maybe a small speaker (AX8 probably) for stations or something..

hippelipa @ thanks for the pics you've sent me, they're very handy to recreate the whole hanging part

I dont think, that you need to have all those details in your project.
Its not that much important how the speaker looks from behind. But I thougt it would be usefull for you. So you know how this system fits together. As you seen. All rigging parts are inside the speakerboxes. You just need the hanger on top, connectet to a steel-frame. But for gaming it has not to be that perfect, I think.

My Wishlist.
-A fine Cluster about 4-6 wide and about 3-4 + Downs high

-Some other, simpler Bassspeakers. These Infras with Horn are made for smaler Locations to have a massive deep bass. They also need normal Bass-Speakers to fill the punchy Bass-Frequenz.
For bigger stuff they just use lots of F218 or F221 to get it deep and massive. The more basshornspeakers you use, the deeper it goes.

The Amps are sweet.
I just cant wait to use this.

It'll probably be just the metal frame the whole cluster hangs from with some chains or something more simple. Just to have it attached/hanging from something rather than having it floating in the air, which is (offcoarse) not possible irl, unless you fill the speakers up with helium :D
