This is the thread where you can discuss your favourite rides and parks, talk about upcoming rides, ask questions about parks and just gossip about random park related stuff
I would like to say that my local park, Wicksteed Park in Kettering, which is about 45 minutes away has a NEW log flume!!!
Its called rocky river falls and is a small family ride that is powerful enough to be fun but small enough for the kids! Its height is only 34 feet but it is well themed and has water cannons before the lift hill!
The park also has a Pinfari RC40, a Zierer kiddie and a bunch of flat rides from dutch companies no one has ever heard of. Such as Heega!!
Happy Gossiping!

One thing I can say, is never ride on the Georgia Cyclone at SFOG. It literally felt like it jumped the track on the first drop. Very painful experience.....

The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis is painful as well. Very fun, but incredibly painful. Your enitre body hurts for about 20 minutes after the ride.

Boulder Dash is the best coaster in existence. To disagree is heresy.

I haven't ridden it, but Boulder Dash does look fantastic. Wasn't it retracked by GCI?

Yeah. Check out the vid on TPR (has on-ride and offride) and you can see how they made it ****ing amazing.

On another note.. GCI's are horrible.

I like GCI, the newer ones at least. Evel Knieveel was freaking sweet, but I haven't ridden any others...yet. :(

I've been on both Lightning Racer's, Wildcat, Kentucky Rumbler, both sides of Gwazi, and Roar at SFA.
So far, sadly, nothing spectacular. But, I have heard good things from Thunderhead (friend of mine just visited) and I've heard many fanboyish things about Prowler from a few guys.
Again, we shall see. I hope they don't disappoint like Rumbler did. I was expecting something epic..

I think GCI is entering their 'golden age'. Maybe with the newest ones, Evel Knievel, Terminator, etc. GCI is getting much better and nicer than the previous ones. So, hopefully, the next couple of years will provide a few AWESOME woodies. We'll see...

Manta, one word, Incredible.
Agreed. In my one week trip to seaworld, busch gardens, and universal a few weeks ago, i rode manta 14 times. AMAZING. Best coaster I've ever been on, and I've been on close to every major type except any intamins. :(
Either way, Manta FTW!

SnooSnoo, you really should ride Thunderhead. Incredible coaster.... just Does Not Let Up! If you can arrange it, ride it on a moonless night. You can't see your hands, much less the track! (Of course, this was before Mystery Mine was put in. I haven't had the chance to ride it on such a night since before MM.) Admittedly it's not as smooth as it once was, but it's leaps and bounds better than Roar at SFA, which I've also ridden.
As for Georgia Cyclone... you should have ridden it in it's heyday. Incredible coaster when it first opened. I haven't ridden it this year, so I can't say what it's like now.

EDIT: BTW Squid2, I'm going to Dollywood in about a month. Care to give any tips?
I went on the Rattler and it was EXTREMELY rough.

Ghost, I'm about to head off to work... so start a new thread about Dollywood and I'll respond in a bit with my suggestions. Also, for those watching, I posted up a new theme in the Guess the Theme thread. :D

Last I hear SOB will not be open for quite some time... it may not reopen for the season. The lawsuit may have forced it down for the rest of the year.

Why did the lady wait three weeks if she was really injured? Some people are just so stupid...

I've heard nothing but rave about this coaster.
What makes it better than, El Toro for example?
Looks like a fantatsic ride, but there has to be something that makes it amazing.

I'm heading to the Hersh Aug. 2-rd or July 26-2th.
I'm going to be honest here. I'm scared **** to get on Wild Mouse again. Last time I rode it, the first year or two it was open, there were no brakes. I have never wanted off of a rollercoaster ever before. That time I did. Not fun in any way.
I also realized the only two rides at the park I have never been on are Howler and Tidal Force. That shall change.
If it is true they are removing Flying Falcon, I will be heart broken. </3

:up::up:
Personally, I would like them to hold a "bring-your-own-lighter" Gold Pass event, then collect SoB's ashes, burn them three times, then bury them in a cave in Siberia. SoB is a bad coaster, and there's nothing they can do to fix it, short of replacing the entire track and structure. It will always be rough, and therefore will always attract lawsuits- some justified, some not.
Why did the lady wait three weeks if she was really injured? Some people are just so stupid...
Because she was in the hospital. She probably just assumed it was a migrane caused by the ride (it happens on a regular basis), then later discovered how serious her injury was. I have no doubt that her injury was caused by the ride- if you ride in the wrong row, it feels like getting hit by a car!

Watch 0:25.. and 0:55.. the airtime power of this ride is just unbelievable. It is smooth as butter, the setting is amazing, and the night time ride is paralleled to Beast at night.. but with amazing airtime.
You don't know how many people I know who have ridden it in the last few years and say it is easily their number 1.. easily.
Like.. it really is a crazy amazing coaster.. and to be honest.. El Toro pales in comparison.
The only ride I know of which might be better is T Express.. but it will be a few years before I venture on that bad boy.

You've ridden both sides of Gwazi, but don't let that put you off GCIs forever. Gwazi is by far GCI's worst coaster.

I've also ridden Lightning Racer (both sides) and the 'raved' about Kentucky Rumbler.. and still not impressed.
As I said, I'll be getting on Prowler (another raved about ride) and Evel Kinevel here soon.. and if both disappoint.. well.. GCI will still suck.. ;)
