Will explain more later. ;) But the coaster may look familiar to some older members.. but I doubt they'll remember. :p
PS: Still working on PBR, well I'm almost done with it (mainly grunt work left)... so I started up something new.

Oh man, look at those awesome lines, and those traffic cones are AWESOME. The flat, barren land is so inviting, I wonder how many gas guzzlers will sit and wait. The tarmac, the crosswalk, all of which I can't wait to see more pics of. [/sarcasm]

OMG CHIMERA!!1!1....Hehe, I remembered :)
Is this going to be a total reworking of Midnight Cove somewhat? I remember some computer complication made you stop after you'd finished that wooden coaster (Pegasus?)...or something like that. And only Chimera and that second coaster got finished...So I guess I'm just asking if you plan on doing a redo of the woody, too?
Either way I'm definately excited for this one ;)

Before reading Coca~Cola's comment I thought this had something to do with Jinn, you know, that arabian themed floorless coaster you had on that other park of yours.
But now I remember Chimera, the wooden coaster was named, Phoenix, right?
Ha! I've been lurking for too long ;)

COKE!! Yup, you guessed it! No it's not a total reworking of that.. but it will be similar. The only thing that's the same right now is the layout of the coaster. Oh my gawd.
I love that coaster. Truly spectacular.
The spiral stair case is a very nice touch to the break run.
I would suggest, though, that you consider using the spiral stair case from Vodhin's Girders 'n Glass Structural set. I think it would fit better there.
Also, I think it might be more realistic if, instead of going strictly for the cave look, you used walls pieces to make it look more cut-in to the terrain.
Great update.

Refreshing to see a B&M without a massive vertical loop. The layout looks great so far, I've made zero-g rolls over the lift like that in random tracks before; it's definitely one of my favorite elements. Good job of mixed composerboy's, shyguy's, and marnetmar's rocks for the tunnel. From one of the earlier shots you gave us I thought that rock pile was in the foreground and the coaster in the background, it's remarkable how good photography can trick you! I'm excited to see how you've integrated that dive loop after the MCBR ;). Speaking of which, one thing I'm not too keen on is the level turn following the drop from the MCBR, specifically how it hugs the terrain. I think if you lowered the land around that turn just one incrament you could put in supports to add some realism. Just a thought, it all looks fantastic, and I have no problem with you sticking to the tropical theme when you do it this well!

PINEAPPLE!! WTF, haha...I love how you're gettin creative with thread titles lately, though I'll admit I was actually really disappointed when I realized the update had nothing to do with fruit-themed dueling flyers or something awesome like that :(
That first night pic is just plain stunning. I love how guests are greeted with the sight of such a beautiful beast of a coaster first thing at the parking lot and entrance area...it just adds to the whole excitement of it all. I can just imagine getting to the park just as it opens in the morning and watching that thing testing and not being able to wait to get inside so I could make a direct beeline toward it and beat the crowds.
Lovin the earthy tones of the entrance buildings, particularly the beige and the terra cotta...they're are kinda vibrant yet subdued at the same time. Some really nice color choices here, I'd say.
Looking forward to more, of course! :)

I always love your building style, and how you use the atlantis scenery. The entrance looks very cool from the picture you showed us, (and I see the name of the park is 'Creature' ;))
The roller coaster is awesome, and well lit at night. How is this park doing on your computer? Mine would've been struggling already.

The two first night shots are outstanding! The carpark makes the whole thing even more realistic, something you could see in many real parks. The support work is brilliany, but I'm not a fan of the black track, I'm sure it'll grow in on me and I'll like it eventually though.

You know, you can't just get people all excited over some pineapple and not have at least one pineapple-themed thing in the update!! But disappointments aside (:downcast:) the entrance looks quite lovely in that last screenshot. And the first screenshot of the coaster at night looks so crazy! The lights on the lift look fantastic for some reason.
Oh, as for the trains, there are some custom floorless trains, but... meh, I guess there just isn't any clear-cut GOOD option available. You know if I could, I would. ;)

Very cool Montu! I really like the coaster, and how that loop goes underground. Very intense! :p Nice job with the supports too.
Although I adore that entrance! It's really nice, I love the how you mixed it with staccato walls, and the fences, and all those little details. Very well done!

This is looking great, Montu. The coaster layout is very nice, the loop section being my favourite part, the supports are well placed too, especially on the cobra-roll. Although, the ones on the loop section could be centred a little more with the update on Steel Jungle, that way it'd look more supportive imo.
Other than that, keep doing what you're doing. Those new buildings are spot-on and the colours are perfect.
This looks reeally great Montu. Love the lift hill, and the buildings are interesting and fit very well. Nice colours, and a very pleasant atmosphere. The only thing I'm not keen on is the cobra roll supports. They look slightly unstable.

The entrance looks great! Coaster looks really good too, although I don't know if its just the angles of the photos but it looks a bit spread out and bare.
I actually thought it was cramped, but oh well. Thanks though!
PINEAPPLE!! WTF, haha...I love how you're gettin creative with thread titles lately, though I'll admit I was actually really disappointed when I realized the update had nothing to do with fruit-themed dueling flyers or something awesome like that
That first night pic is just plain stunning.

Looking great as always Montu! (Wait wasn't your old name tmul? with a ghost from mario avatar.) Nevermind that could of been another member I remember. The style of your park is kept with all the rest of your park which is a good thing because most parks go crazy with different themes and pieces like me. Also are you playing with photo shop in these pictures something looks like in your pictures you are tracing the coaster with the tracer tool and sharpening it or blurring it, I don't know I notice these things because I do that sometimes.

I really like the parking lot. But because of the coaster, hehe. The first shot's my favorite again. You got the lighting just right and I love how you mounted those vases on the facade walls. Creative creative creative. What a great touch!
Nice to see you being so thorough with all the little details (the scattered remains in the queue, those cool hanging lamps, the transfer track...all of that) and the jojo roll is just one more good thing to like. I really appreciate how you completely finished absolutely EVERYTHING in the queue area, rather than just show pics taken at angles to make it look finished...or at least I think you did. In the fourth-to-last pic we're seeing the exit and a little souvenier shop, right? That's looking good too.

The coaster looks like it'd be great fun to ride. The submerged loop reminds me a lot of Montu's sunken second-half.
There's a set of ground covers I used in RPM recently in the queue that had a gorgeous sand texture. I think it's the "Covers & More" set that shows up in foliage. Check that out, used sparingly -- perhaps in the queue scenery areas? -- it'll help kick the visual interest up a notch. Looks more like sand than anything the ground textures in the game can produce.

You're so obnoxious with your titles. :haha:
I'm liking this progress. One thing I'm fond of for no particular reason is the fences on the paths in shot 2. The lampposts look great atop the netting, and I like the look that the net and crooked wood fences create. The splash boats ride will be spectacular, I'm sure, but I'm not a fan of the rock arch above the splashdown. These rides are supposed to be guest-interactive, and while you've got the path to the side for peeps to get soaked on, the arch looks like it totally ruins the front view/main splashage area.
Oh, and one last tiny thing. In the 3rd picture, waaaay in the background in that building on the right, there's a window on the 2nd floor that intersects with a roof. Consider fixing. :)

Thanks for your helpful post NGS. I will remove the rock arch, I understand what you mean. But the way the boats splash is to the side and that's why I've created somewhat of a tunnel under the bridge. So in theory the splash from the boat will ricochet off the walls and come back on the riders.. sort of similar to splash mountain. But of course this is rct3 and that doesn't happen... but I can only imagine. Oh and I will fix the window.
Well, I'm preparing an update so expect one in the next 30 minutes or so. :)

Thank you very much.
How about something for the kids. A park or something. An indoor play area :p Or a rock climbing wall :D
I'll think about it.. a rock climbing wall would be a nice side game.
I know you really like the tropical theme and everything (I do, too, and you're certainly good at it), but I'm dying to see what you could do with, say, the sci-fi theme or something.
I do too. :haha:

Thanks, but it is the entrance.. and all entrances have tons of shops!
So here's the deal.. I'm moving into college tomorrow and I probably won't have much time to play. So if I don't update this for a while it doesn't mean I have stopped working on this. So don't expect updates often.

^ I, too, like the Nemesis-esque beginning...
But, I don't agree with the critique of the support colors. Kinda. ;) Yeah.. it's a boring color... but on a dueler, shouldn't the supports kinda fade away, and let the two contrasting track colors speak for themselves? (ie: Dueling Dragons, or whatever carp they're calling it next week)

I really like the details in that panorama, Montu. The caps on the space shots, the lone tall palms in the left and right-middle, and I wholeheartedly appreciate the topography; it's not easy to create a good looking "unlevel" park, but I see nice terrain texture changes, appropriate and creative tree placement, and beautiful organic hills. Keep it going, man!

Right now, I need some help:
It looks good, but I'd love to see you tackle something other than tropical themes. Hopefully there will be some of that in this project. :)
I agree with this. :D
Okay, but what would you guys like to see? I'm kinda at a loss of ideas. I don't want to do something tropical, but I want an area that will still be able to fit nicely into the park and I am having a hard time coming up with an idea.
I have a coaster layout, and a super rough path layout shown below:
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9516/shot0057c.jpg
I really like this layout. It's like a mix of Millennium force and maverick, and it is very fun to ride!
So anyone have any ideas on what theme I should build around this?
Plokoon111
11-27-2009, 03:19 PM
I say make it a rocky one, with lots of rocks and some water lakes around it, not to big but natural looking. Maybe make some of the track go through a small cave.
-NGS-
11-27-2009, 03:26 PM
Medieval; the use of some walls you've already got will draw the area together with the rest of the park. You can surround the ride with parapets and possibly incorporate a moat, towers, and a village.

What about some sort of industrial research facility on the edge of your tropical paradise. Experiments gone wrong in a very "big brother" kind of way? Would allow you to play with some new elements (sci-fi/industrial) while keeping somewhat tied to your tropical safe-zone :D

I didn't realize there was already a castle aspect going on here. I think that makes the prospect of a medieval area that much more enticing; it's much easier to make a stylistic transition than it is to just try to pick up a completely different style, and it would probably look better. From what you've just shown me, there's no deficiency in your current abilities, so take comfort in that.

As for the new coaster, what I would love to see is a coaster that really interacts with the peeps. Like it would be sweet if it crossed over many paths and maybe was built into the park more instead of off to the side. That, and don't make it red or blue. Coasters are always painted red or blue. So maybe a green or something else would be nice. Anyways, i hope this helps! BTW, I LOVE Tengu!

Usually I find something to criticise but I see nothing! Keep up the great work, and for the coaster your not sure about the theme for, how about something like elements'
Wind, water, Fire and earth. You could pull something like that off I think without it being very contrasting to the surrounding theme.
