I'll be going to Dollywood in about 3 weeks. Any tips or pointers I might find useful for when I go?

I just got back from Dollywood a few days ago. It rained during the morning (which helped control the crowds, with all coasters being walk-on), but it cleared up later in the day.

I got 3 rides on Mystery Mine, 3 on Thunderhead, and 1 on Tennessee Tornado. Mystery Mine was an "okay" ride (it was my first Eurofighter), but the restraints aren't too male friendly, if you know what i mean. It seems the tighter that I held on to the restraints, the worse it got. LOL :bulb: Also, be sure to brace yourself for the drop after the "rock crusher," there's a major head-banging spot there. ;)

Thunderhead was amazing, and the back was filled with plenty of airtime (although the front had some pretty good airtime too). Tennessee Tornado was a pleasant surprise, actually. I had expected it to be pretty rough, but it was just about as smooth as a B&M.

The best advice I could give you as far as the right times to ride the rides would be to get to the park around opening time, and make your way over to Timber Canyon first thing. Hit Thunderhead, Mystery Mine, and Timber Tower first, and then make your way up to the River Battle and Tennessee Tornado area. :)

Have an awesome time there, and be sure to stop by the Grist Mill in Craftman's Valley. They have awesome cinnamon bread!

Dollywood is my home park.

Thunderhead has loads more air in the front than the back. Front is where its at for Thunderhead.

You HAVE to ride Tornado in the back. Its an awesome ride best Arrow in existence, a little short but man does it pack a punch.

Blazing Fury in the back has some surprising air too.

If your tight on time or if there is a line for Timber Tower skip it, it sucks anyways.

Mystery Mine is a lot smoother in the back than the front, also in the back the drop off the trestle has the most extreme ejector of any coaster. On the drop under the crusher and the whole first outdoor section stick your head in front of the restraint "Arrow Ride Style". The last half is butter smooth but watch out for the bump into the brake run.

Dare Devil Falls you will get absolutely soaked in the front row, make sure to ride in the back to minimize wetness but make sure to ride its an awesome log flume drop.

Get a bologna sandwich at the BBQ place halfway up Craftmans Valley. Also the bakery right by the entrance is really good.

I went there when I was younger right after Thunderhead opened and it was my first roller coaster. I loved it, but it scared the crap out of me. :p

Oh, and I also remember an awesome water ride, and a ride like SDC's Fire In The Hole.

I was too short to ride Tennessee Tornado...It looked cool though.

Have Fun!
