This brand new Waterpark, (or what they call, Themepark), just open on July 1st,2009. It is now the biggest waterpark in Arizona. Wet n' Wild Phoenix.
My family decided that we would take a day and go up to it. From my house, it is a 45 minute drive. We have some friends that just moved and their new house is only 5-10 minutes away from it, so we decided to all go together. After picking them up, we pulled into the parking lot at 10:10. The park had already opened (10:00) After finally finding a parking spot, we got all of our stuff together and got tickets. With our friend being so close to the park, they had got couponds for $8 off of every ticket, with up to 6 people a ticket. So we got in for $24 each, not bad.
We found a spot right next to the wave pool, which was shaded for the whole time we where there. Now, remember, I said this was the biggest waterpark in Arizona... which ment over 30 slides to chose from. 17 regular and the rest in the HUGE kiddy jungle gym.
Me and my brothers decieced that we were going to ride Mammoth Falls first, which is a mammoths from Proslide Technology, I Think (The park referes it to a Family Raft Ride). I think it is the first of its kind, I dont know though. Once you get on, you roll off of the convere belt and then go through a few twists and turns before being dropped 57 feet onto half of a half pipe then over a little airtime hill and into the pool. If you look on the map below, it is the one thats yellow next the red one, in the bottom left hand corner.

(Im Sorry, I didnt take any pictures of my visit and with the park being so new, there isnt any up on the web yet.)
Insead of going through the whole day, I will just list all the slides and say a little reveiw, rating, and how many times I rode it.
Mammoth Falls: Above
Rating: 8/10
Rode: 1 Time
Max Wait time: 20 Minutes
Raging River: (Red, Bottom Left Hand Corner)
Wow, was this ride fun, just like Mammoth falls, its a Family Raft Ride. After getting into the raft, you roll out of the station and into tons of twists and turns. Unlike Mammoth falls, this one doesn't have a huge drop or halfpipe. Depending on the size and weight of the people you ar with, depends on how much you get wet. With this ride have so many sharp turns in it, the water rides up on the wall and the crashs with the other water, creating a pool of water, which will splash you as ride right trough it and up onto the wall. With having the sharp turns, every turn you make, you ride up on the wall.
Rating: 10/10
Rode: 1
Max Wait Time: 20 min
Maximum Velocity: (Yellow and Teal, Top Left hand Corner)
These two slides are Dueling H20 Blasters. I rode the Yellow one with my bother. Man, where these slide good. The best H20 Blasters that I have been on. The wait was horrible (30-45 minutes), but man where they fun. Every single hill, even the first drop out of the station, I got air time. Near the end of the ride, they put in this one section where you dont even see the hill coming, and just wow.
Rating: 10/10
Rode: Yellow: 1
Max Wait Time: 45 min
Serpentine Complex: (Same tower as Maximum Velocity) (3 slides, the Super Bowl, and the two serpentine slides.)
I usually dont like toilet Bowls (The ones were you are just on your back and fall through the hole) , but Super Bowl was fun. Insead of being on your back, you where either in a 1 or 2 person tube. A simple slide, but fun. The most rounds you could get before going down the drain, was 5 spins. The exciting thing about the bowl was, you could end up going backwards down the drain (drop, twist and then into the pool). There were also the two other tubing slides there, the Serpentines, Blue and Yellow. The blue on was the faster out of both of them but the yellow was just as much fun with all the twist, turns, and drops. The nice thing about them, there was NO wait time, exepct for... (2) (Look at bottom of post) But otherwise they were a blast.
Rating:
Super Bowl: 9/10
Blue Serpentine: 9/10
Yellow Serpentine: 8/10
Rode:
Super Bowl and Blue Serpentine: 2
Yellow Serpentine: 1
Max Wait Time:
Serpentines: 5 min.
Super Bowl: 15 min.
Tornado: (Blue and Yellow, Top Right Hand Corner)
First time that I have ever been on one of those slides. While we were there, it broke down 2 times. The park could have worked on the name a little more but, o well.
I was the only one out of the family that got to ride it before it broke down again. I was a little dissaponited in this ride, the ride, and the Reliablity. I loved one of the comments one of the lifegaurds said about it right as it broke down again, "Thats the 7th fricken time its broken down in 2 days."
Rating: 6/10
Rode: 1
Wait time: 35 min. (After it reopened, before it broke again)
Desert Racers: (Top Right Hand Corner) (6 slides together)
These were fun. You go down on these mates, which have handles in the front and you go laying down on your stomach face first. A fun little ride with a very little wait time.
Rating: 9/10
Rode:
Red: 1
Purple: 1
Yellow: 1
Max Wait time: 10 min.
Phoenix Flyers: (Bottom Right Hand Corner)(3 Slides)
These slides were a little fun. All three were tubing, so you had to wait for a tube. After getting a tube though, the wait to get on the slide wasn't really worth it, at least for the slide I rode.
Rating: 5/10
Rode:
Light Blue on map (Teal in real life): 1
Max Wait Time:
20 Min
Kiddy Area: (Middle of map)
Yes, I am a 16 year old, but I still played around in the kiddy area. The kiddy area is muc bigger than it is on the map. They designed the kiddy area so well that everyone could play around on it. (There were a few adults on there dumping, spraying, ect. water on everyone that went by)
The rest of the 30+ slides that were in this park were in the kiddy area. This kiddy area also had the best thing a kiddy area could have, A HUGE tipping bucket... haha
Rating: 9/10
Monsoon Bay: (Their wave pool)
The wave pool that they have there is from the old park that use to be there (WaterWorld). The pool was way to small for the size park that Wet n' Wild is. Plus, I have a feeling that the wavepool was the first thing to go on Wet n' Wilds budget when it went over because they never re-surfaced the pool. Making it look kind crappy, paint chiping and concrete showing, ruff flooring in the shallow area.
Rating: 6/10
In all, I had a good day and so did my family and friends.
Only complaints/requests for next year.
1) More drinking fountains, only drinking fountains were at the front of the park
2) Add a railing in the middle of the steps on the Serpentine Complex so people aren't blocking the way when waiting for the Super Bowl.
