Well , my goal in RCT3 is to make the most realistic parks so some day I can make my own(Yes , that is a lot of steps...) So , one day I realised that no one has made any cubbie holders cs for rides. Of course , peeps couldn't use these , it's more for just looking at and making the station more realistic. I actually really like the models so far , but the one thing I hate the most is... finding exellent textures like the "pros" do. If you have any ideas for textures , please , please post them. I'll put credit for you into the set if I have to .
More cubbies will more than likely come , if I find and take some pictures when I go to theme parks. If you have any request , I'll try to make them , but I'm not promising anything. This set may turn into a "Station goodies" If I make some good station items with good , realistic textures.
Here is what I have so far. Nothing much at the momment. I have no references..

I plan on putting non-colorble metal for the small supports , and having re-colorble wood for the whole texture. My problem is , lack of. I cannot find any good textures on any of the recremended texture sites , plus I cannot find the tutoriall for making the textures recolorable. If anyone can help , please do so.

Okay , so this can be raised up to the top of the first on to look like this:
http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz302/Whitesoxsfan21/Roller%20Coaster%20Tycoon%203/Custom%20Scenery/Cubbie3.jpg
The cubbies can be put side to side and stacked any way you want.
If you would like me to make more cubbies , please provid pictures. I plan on making more in this set , it justs textures are hard to find... I might have to go up to a cubbie looking like an idoit , and get my own and pray it turns out :P .
-More soon!

Now that you mention it, i remember cubbies (or TINY boxes) on all the rides.. I 100% support this, but as the newb i am i'm afraid i dont have any texures for this. Best of luck though!

I'm no CS creator, but I think you should find out how to make it recolourable. I think that would be great.
Also, it's probably just me but isn't a whole tile width a little big for only four cubbies?
I hope this works out because I would definitely use them. Right now, I make my peeps put their crap on the floor inside of painted lines. lol

Great idea, I don't really know what sort of textures you'd use though :S. And yes, I agree that a whole tile may be just a little too wide...

Thank you for giving me critism. I live off that :p . I dont have any updates , but I've decided to make the cubbies smaller , like suggested. More cubbies in compact storage= more storage.
For anything new , I might make more cubbies simular to Cedar Points. Should I make it quarter title?

no....i would keep them like that, but with more cubbies spots. 16 would look best! Yeah, Cedar Points is about right. I havent been there in awhile, so i dont know how many cubbies they got in each box. and for recolorable, do you want a plain color, or a texture? (wood, metal?) http://mob153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/coasterfreak53/Textures/NoTexture_C1blue.jpg http://mob153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/coasterfreak53/Textures/NoTexture_C2red.jpg http://mob153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/coasterfreak53/Textures/NoTexture_C3yellow.jpg these are the colors to use for recoloring objects.

Thank you! As for textures ,I guess those will work , plain was really what I was looking for , but with low , slight details. As for the metal , I bet I can get that.
I guess , I'll have three cubbies for the set so far: Large cubbies(4) Small Cubbies(16) And Bins. The bins will be a quarter title with lids. The have numbers on them with colors corisponding the train's color. I will make up to 6. I might also make lockers with the atm change machine. Maybe.
Edit: Should I keep it one recolorable color or make three parks of the cubbies recolorible? I might end up making the texture wood... For now , it will be plain.
Heres the update.

I also made on without the metal underneath so you can stack them , or hang them on the wall

I really don't understand the recoloring whne using the pink, yellow, and cyan, but I would gusee that the pink is the first, yellow second, and cyan third. You should probably be using the pink for the boxes, and make sure that the texture is a square.

Some cubies on ridews have 2 different colors. left half and right half, can you do that also?

recouloring is actually verry simple, when importing on the rct3 inport you select create ovl, the first thing you do is go to the textures section in the top right hand corner and click the + button, then you select the image you used for the texture (which should be a bitmap, you can change it on paint) then when youve selected the image it will open a window, at the bottom there will be a bar saying 0 clours, simply click the down button and selec one colour and it makes the image recolourable

Sorry, its not that simple. You need to edit the image in GIMP or another picture editing program, and take away all the green and blue so its just pure red. Its not an easy thing to do, and if anyone wants a very informational tutorial, go to http://www.chaosxtreme.com/rct3/totorial_main.html and go to the "All Things Custom" page.
The set looks nice by the way, but i do wish you had one box cubbie which will be recolorable, and another which will be a solid texture, like wood. I post some of my wood textures if you would like :) I think the recolorable cubbies would go great with metal coasters, and wooden-textured cubbies would go great with wooden coasters. Good luck with the set!

Here (http://www.vodhin.org/e107/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.53) is the new way of doing recolorable textures. You need a PNG file for it, though.

All of these different ways to re-color people are throwing at me is just making it worse... I all ready know the basics to cs , other than recoloring . Textures , sizes , importing , polys what ever. I really appricate your comments , but I don't know what to do know that there are all these posts saying different thinks. I'm pretty sure that the png is correct , because it is on vodhins site. Like IU said thank you , but I have no idea what to look at as in having my objects recolorble... guess I'll find out while importing.

Just use a 4x4 PNG with solid RGB 127-0-0 for the first color, a different 4x4 PNG with solid RGB 0-127-0 for the second color (if applicable), and a different 4x4 PNG with solid RGB 0-0-127 for the third color (if applicable). Of course, this assumes you want solid-color textures.

Thank you. I'll tool around with it in the next few days. In the mean time, I'll be working on my park and such. School is coming up. I hope to get this done before this year is over.

ok, the easy way to do this.....(after exporting object) open the importer. select "create ovl" add the color texture that you used, a window will open and go to the bottom where it says "object colors player can change" select "one color", then click ok. now as i remember with the old importer, the blue(cyan) was the first color bucket. the red(magenta) was the second color bucket, and yellow was the third color bucket. now that i have the new importer, seems those colors dont work very well for me. maybe i will try the red(magenta) as my first color choice. if these ideas do work for you, please let us know! Thanks-Coasterfreak :)

Okay , I've had the importer for a while and I just opened it. Here is what it said...
"This Application has failed to start because mingwm10.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I'm taking it that I have to find the mingwm.dll file somewhere don't I?

How about making bins, too? Some parks have buns numbered "1, 2" and so on. I would like that to be done. You don't have to do it if you don't want to.

^^Thanks , I already downloaded it. I'm trying to get used to the new importer... It is quite different that the old one.
Edit: ^Yes I plan on doing so after I get these out of the way.

I am going to try and be polite , but please stop asking me to post an update. I am still trying to figure out some of the new features of the new importer. I hope I can find the old one on my other computer to test these... After I get it tested , I'll add some textures...
