Hi there,

Just got the game yesterday for PSP so yes I am still at the start of the game!
I have managed to start a couple of sidequests in the camp. One of them is to install three pumps for the tech heads and another is to kill some ghouls. Both of these quests have markers that take you to the northwest and northeast of where you start. The only problem is there doesn't seem to be a way to access these paths. There are these caravans blocking the paths and if I go down the path instead to try and cut across the swamps to these paths I just cannot find way across.

Do the refugees eventually leave the camp thus allowing me access to these paths or is it possible to do these sidequests straight away?

I did once somehow manage to get across to the northwest path but couldn't find a way back across the swamp the way I came so ended up getting stuck!

Help!

Phil

Hi there ...

I remember a guy who had the exact same question in another forum last year, so it seems that these 2 quests are a bit "vague" on the PSP. Unfortunately, I didn't have a solution at that time - and I don't have one now.

However, the first quest looks similar to the one in the PC version of the game:

Go to the location of the gas extractor, kill a handful of Qje'Shi's (the poison-spitting plants), then the (formerly invisible) gas extractor appears. After that you can go back to the questgiver to get a reward.

The second quest is a bit different on the PC:

The questgiver (Lissae) wants you to find a Dragon Tree in the marsh, kill it, and get some blood (?) from it to heal the refugees in the encampment. There are many of these crazy trees in the game (if you search the area south of the refugee's camp you'll find one), but it's only necessary to kill one of them to complete the quest. Furthermore, this quest does not have a questmarker on the minimap.

This is everything I remember from the PC version of Silverfall, but I don't know if it helps a PSP user, sorry. Maybe a guy with a PSP can help you out.

Hi there Brewmaster,

I have actually found the solution to the problem. The paths to the Northwest and Northeast are indeed locked off until you complete a storyquest where you have to go to an Elves camp to ask for help. When you go back to have a word with Kara with the good news, the caravans disappear thus allowing you access to both sidequests!

Actually I have another query. Further on in the game you get given a quest to find a blacksmith for Silverfall. I continued with the storyquest which ended up with me past the Nercroraider lab which was very tough. I had forgotten about going back to complete the sidequest and now whenever I try to use the portals to go back it keeps taking me to the Zeppelin instead of where I was before. I was wondering if on the pc version it does the same thing? I hate having incomplete quests. There's nothing you can do about the ongoing quests to kill a certain amount of things like ratmen but I would like to complete this quest. I have got an old save but that would mean going back 8 hours!

I'm absolutely amazed at how quick you level up as well in Silverfall. Normally in RPG's the higher level you are the longer it take to level up but in this game it seems experience is based on percentage. For example the undead in the first area would have the same percentage as necroraiders you face later on in the game. Not really complaining because I'm up to level 92!

Cheers for replying anyway,

Phil

Thx for clearing that up, philr1, it will help a few PSP users out there.

As for the blacksmith, if you find him he will provide you with a lot of good stuff, that's why this quest is important (imho). In the PC version of Silverfall you'll find him north of Gaian (in the forest). Try to get to Gaian somehow (as an alternative he can also be reached from Greybay; PC only?) ...

Hi Brewmaster. Yes Greybay and Gaian are in the PSP version.

Basically what the problem is when you complete the Necro Lab you get taken to Soltitude I believe it's called and there's a portal there that takes you to below the Zeppelin. In this area all you can do is go to the next portal which takes you to the Zepplin. Well after defeating the two bosses on the Zeppelin I remembered about the blacksmith quest and decided to go back. Whenever I try to use the portal in the Necro Lab it takes me back to the same portal in Soltitude and the only way to go is back to the Zeppelin. I was just wondering if the same thing happens in the pc version. Does the Zeppelin stop you going back then? That is the only logical conclusion I can draw.

I am actually going to go back to my old save because Silverfall is a joy to play. There aren't many very good action RPG's on PSP apart from Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony. If this was released on PC I highly recommend it Brewmaster ;o)

Silverfall is also a great game on the PC (as was DS a few years ago) ;) - maybe a bit underrated by critics & players.

In the PC version you simply activate a map which lets you go back to wherever you like.
