This is my new park, Lake Victory. This is set to be a small, family-oriented park, with no huge coasters, and rides built to fit people of all ages! Family fun for everyone!

The entrance building. This is a HUGE improvement from my previous work.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0335.jpg
The pier along the lake lights up nicely at night.

Not sure if I should keep the awnings or not... What do you think?
Stay tuned....

What will [hopefully] be in the next update:
~ A Main Street
~ A midway
~ A (small) wooden coaster

More will come soon, just wait. I'm copying and pasting my updates from another site, I'll post the next one tomorrow, or today if the demand is high enough.

Why not just put them all it at once if you can, so they match?

Primestar
09-22-2009, 04:55 PM
What, just dump a months worth of updates on them?

Also, I'm not too much a fan of shot tags, they kill the detail of the pictures.

RCT3Callum
09-22-2009, 04:56 PM
Well..yeh, just put up all your pictures so far. It's not that much of a story park that needs lengthy periods between updates. ;)
I'll post between as well, if you hit the limit.

I'm sorry but if we want to criticise, we can criticise? I can taste another leave in the air...

Anyway. It is an improvement from your other parks...still not great, but an improvement. I think your building isn't big enough for an entrance, it needs more details in it, and I don't think the Water World rooves match the Main Street ones. Just keep going and actually follow people's advice, and you might get somewhere with this park...

Ok... Very well. (A story is developing, though.)

Yes, thank you. But the reason you shouldn't critisize on THESE ones is because I started this park on another site, and I'm far past this by now. You can critisize on stuff that's still standing, but if you're gonna tell me to get rid of something, chances are, it's already been mentioned and done.

This is the first update of this thread, featuring many new things I've been working on these past four days. (The pics in the first pic are over a week old.)

First, we go to the Main Street:

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0343.jpg
Victory Gifts (left); The Waterfront Coffee Shop

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0340.jpg
The newest addition, the Frontier Cafe`.

Now, we go on to the Victory Rumbler, the park's first attarction.

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0341.jpg
The station, obviously still a work in progress.

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0346.jpg
One of the many large, banked curves.

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0344.jpg
The lift hill.

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0349.jpg
The layout of the coaster. This coaster was built to follow the terrain, so it is very low to the ground, and snakes through rolling hills, lush evergreens, and zips past the lake, too!

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0342.jpg
This is the Victory Rumbler Souvenier Shop.

Other cool shots:

This is what the pier + lake looks like during the day.

^ You can, go ahead. I never said you couldn't, just, chances are, it's already been done. I'll remove the tags then.

Next update:

Update! I've completed the Main Street, and I'm now building some new sections of the park.

First, we have this section, still a major WIP:
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0366.jpg

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0367.jpg
As is this.

This is the Pit Stop Grille, in the Action Spot section of the park (photo above).

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0365.jpg
The main street also features live music!

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0362.jpg
This is the newest building of the park, finished last night - The Sunnyside Tropical Shack!
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0370.jpg
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0371.jpg
^ Some shots inside

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0363.jpg
Waterpark + Pool complex construction started. Waterslides still in need of custom supports and flanges.

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0373.jpg
A shot from The Cliff, a waterslide with a 90 degree vertical drop.

And I leave you with a teaser...
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0379.jpg

Stay tuned!

EDIT: Also, the attraction in the teaser above may or may not be built. Also, the quad bikes at Action Stop will most definately come out before the next update, and will be replaced with a standard go-kart track.

Better than before primestar, but there still needs some touch ups. the Woodie supports look very weird, Especially the lift hill. I understand it's hard to do, but try your best to fix them. Also, for the water supports, I believe there is some CS that makes supports specifically for twisting water slides, I would google that if I were you. The park still looks a little bare, more trees will do the trick. Very nice job on your buildings however, I'm impressed. This is definitely a improvement prime, this park looks nice.

Primestar
09-22-2009, 09:10 PM
^ Eh, yea - I'd have to agree with you about those supports. You see, Victory Rumbler was the first wooden coaster I've ever custom supported, and I may resupport it later on, after more funds come in. (At where I am right now on Shyguy's World, I'm almost of of money.)

As for those little details you mentioned, I like to get ahead on the park a bit, get a layout and flow going first, then add the details to match the theming. That should start rather soon.

Thanks everyone!

YES! ANOTHER park by Primestar, I'm so excited to see where this will be in two weeks. Probably dead, like all his other parks.

But in all seriousness, I must say Primestar that you have greatly improved, and I hope this park will stick around for more than two weeks. Without any clone accounts or stupidity from you. I am also glad to see that you are using CS.

This being the most successful park I've ever made, I've decided to make a website. Here's the link: http://lakevictory.weebly.com/index.html

Enjoy the site! Tell me what you think of it. Some things have yet to be added, I just have to get a decent screenshot of them first.

Update coming soon!

Well... to be honest, I don't think you should bother spending time on a site when a lot of the pictures on there show things that still need work. Focus attention on the park and get things done first. Also, all of these Weebly websites everyone keeps making are getting a little silly. They all have the same layouts!

Waiting for the next update!

However this park is a big improvement.

^ As stated before, Victory Rumbler was the first wooden coaster I've ever custom supported, so I'd have to completely agree with you on that. It will get new supports.

Sarcasm detected. But in all seriousness, what do you think of the website?

I'm building paths to them, they just won't be in the updates in the near future because these are old updates from Shyguy's World.

Primestar, making a website really was a waste. Because we all know that this won't get off the ground until you accept some criticism. I haven't seen you say, "ok, I'll get right on that!" once in this thread, because you have a comeback for everything. You won't get better until you decide to listen to what we've got to say, because we're trying to help. Mkay?

Criticism will come in many shapes or sizes, just depends how you are going to take it.

The park is pretty good, I don't have criticism on the coasters, bc I haven't built a coaster with Custom Supports, not just yet.
The buildings are improving. I see you use Shyguy's Main street Packages. Nice buildings keep up the good work on that. Do some landscaping to fill up your park.

So forth on the website, that's your decision.
And lastly, I will be back to see more updates.

rctguy123
09-30-2009, 04:11 PM
Look Primestar, you need to grow up and accept peoples criticism. I believe that I have told you this before but you will not improve if you just ignore what everybody is saying and argue with them. Do you realize that we are trying to help you? It seems like you think we are trying to put you down.

Don't waste your time making things that people don't care about. Nobody really cares about the website. I'm not saying that you have to get rid of it, I'm just saying that you don't need it.

^/^^ I'd have to agree with both of you, actually. This has been drawn out into a long, pointless fight, and no one's gonna win. But on the other hand, I also agree with SF. Parks need critics, as does everything else. Now, would anyone like to post a comment related to the parks that is not meant to offend anyone or start a fight?

Seriously. This is getting ridiculous. I had the Premier Zoo thread locked before I left because it became a source of fights. I'd hate to have to do that here.

To be honest, I think you need to lose your website. It\\\'s pointless, there\\\'s only 5 rides. Corkscrew does seem nice though.

Also, your track record is probably one of the worst I know on this forum. You\\\'re going to have to do a lot to regain respect from a lot of different people, especially if you want them to say good things about your park. rctguy is completely right. If you want to get better, you\\\'re going to have to listen. You can\\\'t except people to forgive and forget, after what you did about a month ago.(Sorry about the \', its a weird glitchy thing)

10-01-2009, 03:09 PM
^ Okay, okay. Calm down. The update is here. (Once again, and old one from SW.)

I have an update.

Hey, it's me again. We're nearing the finish of the park. We would like to build more, but we were given a grant of $40M to start with, and we're almost out already. You will soon see why.

Two new attractions were added to the Action Spot area, which may or may not stay. The Action Spot area is in horrible lack of theming, and it's pretty much at the point of no return now.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0429.jpg
The first is Spin - this ride is insane. Do you dare to enter?

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0427.jpg
Then the second one is Auto Raceway, an intense, fast-paced go-kart circuit, taking you through five dark tunnels with twist and turns!

The Sunnyside Tropical Shack got a slight overhaul.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0423.jpg
We've narrowed the tower and moved it forwards, giving it some extra flare, and an overall better look with the spire used on top, instead of the peak it had before.

Remember the coaster I told you about earlier? Well, if you've visited the site recently, you will already know this - It's a short circuit Vekoma multilooper, which stands at 82 feet in height. It will debut for the 2009 Winterfest, with a $5 admission fee, then in the 2010 season with free addmission. The name is 'Corkscrew'.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0418.jpg

The Splashdown Bay Waterpark got two new slides (duelers), both named Shockwave. I especcially like the color scheme, and how they exchange the colors between eachother.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0424.jpg

The pier was built in 1920, on wooden stilts. It has had minimum maitnence (sp?) since then, and will soon collapse. So we are re-building the peir, this time on a cement base. We will also have a safer, more durable steel fence up.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0426.jpg

Another thing mentioned on the site was the moving of Power Shot and Zephr to a position behind Victory Rumbler. We've got that finished, along with another ride, called Fireball.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0419.jpg

The entrance looks beautiful at dawn.
http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0425.jpg

http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o450/Domonik2/Shot0428.jpg
An overview.

Just have to add a few more refining details, and then we'll be completely drained. We need to open rather soon, or else we'll go OOB before we even open.

Also, I have added a new page to the website, about the waterpark. All names of each and every attraction have been put into alphebetical order. Enjoy the site!

This update is pretty good!. Although. You have got alot of work to do with your paths. They need colour and at the moment they look boring and horrible. The best way to do this is the use some path covers. You are not working hard enough. And seriously.. this is nearly the end of the park?. Please tell me you are going to impove it.. It is good at the moment.. But it can be a whole lot better using different sets and working a day or two on a very simple flat ride. The woody is soooooo undersupported. That would just break and everyone would die. Not very realistic huh? At the moment I would class this as 3 stars. Work harder and it will be a 4.

Except the critic.. and just listen to what people say.. open your mind and you will go far.

What's that huge mass of random bars inside the corkscrew?

Primestar
10-03-2009, 05:56 PM
^ The area it's in is themed as a junkyard, so that's a pile of metal scrap. Some of it functions as a support for the coaster. (Notice, the bars get thicker underneath the track.)

rctguy123
10-03-2009, 07:03 PM
^ I think you should get rid of it, it just looks like a bad attempt to theme the ride. Also, part of the coaster intersects with the station buiding, not very realistic if you ask me.

chrisy177
10-03-2009, 08:10 PM
I am liking this new stuff primestar ;). Keep this up and you will slowly get out of everybodys bad books ;). The first pic of corkscrew is really nice, and I believe this is the first time I have ever gave you a nice comment!

As for constructive criticism, unfortunately the junkyard has not worked. I would say remove it and just try and keep it generic for now.

The queue line needs some drastic improvement. I do not think you should build paths on uneven ground, make sure it is either flat or sloped. This way you can use path covers more effectively.

I would redo the station, it looks tremendously small, and the track goes through it!

Also, in the first pic, next to the queue line there is a rather random piece of terrain sticking out. This needs to be averaged or flattened, it looks quite wierd! There are some other examples of weird terrain, like pic 6. Terrain should be very subtle, anything pointy is unrealistic .

The supports for Corkscrew were done well! But I think you could add some X-shaped crosses to give it a fuller look.

I like the design of the Victory Rumbler, it looks like a fun ride! Good luck supporting it ;).

Good job, and keep up the good work, it would be a shame if you got yourself banned when you are in the process of improving!

The junkyard will be removed, Corkscrew's sation will be re-built, and VR is under construction... Again.

Chrisy, as for that last sentence, most of my infractions were from losing my temper at stuborn people and yelling at them. That doesn't happen anymore.

I will get rid of the junkyard and blend it in with Action Spot. This will also create for a better floe in theming. The main street will go into Lakeside Thrills, which will flow over into Action Spot, which will make for a smooth transition to Splashdown Bay. And so on, and so forth.

EDIT: Any name ideas for future themed areas will help greatly in the future. Thanks!

EDIT 2: Also, one more thing - Would anyone like anything regarding the park? POVs, track downloads, park downloads, etc.?

Okay, first things first:http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr8/liamrocks25/Shot0713.jpg
Now, being a park from 2008, it is old, but yes it was the name of my waterpark. Not only that, but it is using one of the two logos I used for mine. Just a though, you may want to change it, as this being my first park, was important to me.

Now, that waterpark looks bland. Maybe trees, rocks, fences? Look at Twin Palms, not only that, download it (it is available) and see some of the details I put in up close. It might give you examples to use in your park.

^ Thanks Liam. I didn't know you used that name, I just found that logo in the User-Created Billboards thread. Sorry, I'll change it. The waterpark is a major WIP, and yes, it will be covered with some trees, rocks, and fences n stuff. Thanks for commenting Liam.

And to anyone who was wondering what Caribbean Breeze was going to be, it was going to be the attraction in the first blueprint.

EDIT: Better yet, I'll remove the image and refference to it. If you want to see the logo, you can find it in the User-Created Billboards thread, page 3 I think.

If you want, I could make you a logo under a new name. PM me some details if you want.

Okay, thanks so much! I'll start thinking up a name for it... But I do know it will be of a tropical theme, with some cartoon-ish looking palms, similar, but not the same, as the ones used in the logo I had previously posted.

EDIT: Also Liam, in case you're wondering, this park is half-inpired by your work. I just loved the building style and tropical colors you've used! :)

EDIT EDIT: Wait a second, Liam! I'm not trying to acuse you of anything here, but look at this. Teirmose posted that sign on Page 3 of the UCB thread, way back in 2005.

Sorry, I can still change it if it's that important to you.

OH MY GOD! Could it be? Is Primestar actually taking our advice?

I am very proud of you Primestar. :p:up:

I suggest that you custom support your waterslides and work on the stations a little bit - seeing that you can do basic buildings, I'm sure you can make some decent looking stations.

Other than that, I see great improvement. Remember to keep your cool with constructive criticism, K? ;)

What really pisses me off about him, is that ever since he came back, he considered himself a complete veteran, and started commenting other people's work, acting like his is better.
He also knew very little about the amusement industry. You guys should seriously look at his comments on test topic.

Oh yeah, those comments about the hyper coaster:
You have GOT to be kidding me, right!?

1. That's Intamin track. Hyper coasters are built by B&M.

2. Those are also Intamin supports.

3. You really should use CS, I'd reccomend Steel Jungle.
