Sometimes, when I place a generic trashcan (the realistic-looking CS, not the in-game one), it's placed above the ground instead of on it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

A) Which CS set?
B) It probably has collision detection on, which means if there is any other scenery with collision detection in the same square it is occupying it will be placed above it. That includes walls.

This is the trash can:

And removing walls or fences doesn't help.

Is the ground level?

I know it isn't, but it looks perfectly level; but if I try to adjust anything, it will mess the paths up.

It's not a picture from my park; it's from Canada's Dreamland.

These are my trashcans I made.. I'm not seeing a problem in the picture you showed....
It's set to be placed on a path's inner edge. Pretty sure there's no collision detection. To make sure I just placed a lamp down and then placed my trashcan in the same spot.. it worked so no Collision detection there...
has anyone else had this problem? if so can someone show me a pic or tell me how to recreate the problem exactly.

Just mess with the ground a little bit, then flatten it.

That picture is mine, from Ontario's Dreamland.
My plaza is completely flat so I didn't have a problem there.
