So this probably isn't a big deal to some but i found it interesting, when playing as Goku base vs piccolo he says that whole goosebumps thing when he fights but pick Goku Super saiyan and he says the same thing but he says it in a lot more serious tone...I thought it was kind of cool they added that kind of effect in.

Well now that most of us have been playing the demo for about 2 weeks we know and its nice but a thread wasn't really needed just to state this.

True, so then why not let it go somewhere? Why not mention the other little details you like in the game? Or perhaps what you'd like to see in the next game etc?

I really hate goku and piccolo's lines before they fight, it's so corny. Can they please give lines not designed for a 10 year old to like? And when Goku sounds more "serious" it just sounds fake to me, that's not him.
Like when base goku and piccolo fight maybe it should be something they would have said to each other when they fought in the tournament and they were enemies back then. Then when it's ss goku he can say something like how it's a sparring match that they would have had while training for the androids to show up in 3 years.
...maybe its just me but I'd like that stuff a lot better. I don't really like Radditz lines either, he should be more cocky and say something more evil. Not generic stuff. I want to have the tone set and be pumped before I start a fight you know?

great effect to add in
but going from base to ssj is more then starting so im yet to see this :P
also when you go down to red health and they hit you with a special your clothes rip off that is awesomeness methinks

It exists, i actually know the language so i can tell what kind of speech fits a character and what does not. The japanese counterpart of yikes would be "yabe".
No, no dub ever beats the original, dubs are tools used for selling to the lowest common denominator. To the people who can't enjoy something if they have to read subtitles due to them being young children or uneducated people.

Naruto has sold maybe 5 million copies. Take a look at how much gundam has sold and then start talking.
DBZ games are not meant for america, if they were they'd all be FPSs. If they are then we wouldn't have gotten arale in bt3 when Dr.Slump is not big at all over here.

Wow, Gundam? That series has about 10000 games, of course the one guy that collects those games will buy every one.. it doesn't count.
DBZ games are for the children that watch the anime(american), "Otakus"(american), as well as casual anime fans(american). Dragon Ball Z is OLD news in Japan. So, yeah, it's meant for America(Atari's biggest consumer), otherwise it wouldn't be MADE for americans. Dr.Slump? VIZ Media say's "hi". Also, Raging Blast is ****ing released in US before its released in Japan, explain that?..

How about pokemon then if gundam won't do, it's the second best selling game series ever made lol.
DBZ is huge in japan, recently they started showing a remake series without the fillers, called dragonball kai, and they redid all the voice acting for it and it is shown once a week. You really are not knowledgeable at all.
Atari doesn't make the games, it's just a publisher, Bandai Namco makes the games along with tens of others.
This game releases november 13 on both japan and usa so i don't know where you get your info.

Personally my opinion on the Dub of Dbz compared to the original Japanese version. The Japanese version is more true to the story but even it strays from the manga quite a bit because of filler. But the Dub goes even further, which isn't good. But also I grew up with the Dub, so when I try to watch Dbz in Japanese I can't, nothing sounds right. I believe the Japanese version is probobly superior but I don't believe the Dub is horrible either. I notice alot that could have been done better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCk8FROqLPQ&feature=related But at the same time I believe they did some things better then the original, like the soundtrack but thats all opinion not fact. There is only really one song in the Japanese version I enjoy, and the scene it is used in blows the Dub away completely and totally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CncprLa_E-c
Now on topic, I didn't really hear much of a difference. Even if there is one it wasn't huge. If it is there and I just missed it then thats pretty cool, they are adding abit more detail.

Pokemon was a game-series before it became an anime. :noob:
Fact is, a majority of Dragon Ball Z fans are american, because it's a recent anime in the US.. while in Japan it aired years ago. Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit sold more in US than it did in Japan.. that speaks for itself.

Pokemon is a multiplex of things, the games and the anime coexist. There's a bunch of manga too, point being, not all things anime-related need dubs to sell well. Even if it was a game first, it was an anime-like game.
America is a larger country than japan, that's why the games sell more here.
You're wrong once more, Raging blast is being released by bandai namco in USA, not by atari, therefore, if atari didn't publish the past games namco bandai would have like it's doing now.

Putting dialogue aside, the Funimation dub has EXCELLENT voices for characters.
Goku, Piccolo, and Cooler, for example. They don't sound anywhere NEAR as good in Japanese (Goku's painful to listen to)
Plus, without the dub, we wouldn't have Final Cooler speech. Which is quite possibly the greatest supervillain speech of all TIME.
"I am the Supreme Master of this universe!
I am the Great Destroyer, the Taker of Life!
It is My Will that this planet, and everyone on it,
BE ANNIHILATED!"
((I am in love with Final Cooler's Funi voice, lol))

It exists, i actually know the language so i can tell what kind of speech fits a character and what does not. The japanese counterpart of yikes would be "yabe".
No, no dub ever beats the original, dubs are tools used for selling to the lowest common denominator. To the people who can't enjoy something if they have to read subtitles due to them being young children or uneducated people.
Quit being ignorant...and i don't have a clue about what that boo thing means...isn't it chanspeak from the chart where it says it's not to be taken seriously?
Hold on there buddy, although I agree with the points you're stating. I didn't like this one in particular. Kind of a narcissistic approach you took there with that statement which I highlighted bold. On the contrary the "lowest common denominator" might be the other way around. I guess you replied with your ID and avoided your ego and super ego to condense your statement, I don't know but it was a bit subliminal. I'm only stricken with curiosity. So lets not bewilder ourselves with who's right and who's wrong but I would say this; dubs doesn't necessarily mean the person is young or uneducated, the individual just chose and never saw fit to familiarize themselves with the so called "education" you mentioned. In this case I would presume you meant individuals who don't know japanese. Once again I take the approach of being subliminal with my words, just to let the person reading ponder and decipher what I'm trying to express. Whether you like my response or not, simply just be careful with what you say because some people might read it another way. Oh and spare me with any differences or desire to extend on my explanation, all I'm trying to do is pitch in my two cents. Basically man, relax, its only a cartoon, oops, i meant "anime." Ha ha ha...:haha:
FYI... I also have japanese ancestry in my background so I know the differences between the japanese and english dialogue. And yes the english dub can be painful at times. Though I choose to listen to it over the japanese dialogue, due to personal choice.

Actually, the "uneducated" was referring to people who'd have subtitles take away from the enjoyment they'd derive from watching anime in japanese with subs in whichever language they speak due to their bad reading skills.
Normally, in places not USA, all foreign media is watched in it's original language with subtitles excluding programs intended for children young enough to not be able to read well.

I concur due to the fact that I know that a majority of the people "reading" its not one of their favorable hobby. Cause of it I can understand why a lot of individuals view it in a rather uncomfortable manner.

I run into this situation when I talk about games too. Most people who wouldn't enjoy an RPG are the ones who'd go for the dub of an anime. Reading for fun is an alien concept to some, not sure if this is an educational concern or a cultural/sociological one, probably more than one of these, either way it's quite opposite to the culture anime and anime-ish games belong to.

To me Sub>Dub, if you watch enough episodes you get used to the voices, plus the music flows much better in the fight scenes, it sounds like background music unlike the Dub's which is more like mood music that misses it's mark quite frequently. I watched Goku vs Kid Buu in Japanese and it was very, very easy to watch, it was actually comforting in a way.
That's not to say that the Dub sucks, because it doesn't. Although I prefer the majority of the Japanese voices (not Babadi's) the Funimation voices are pretty good ( I do have a problem with Vegeta's whose voice I can't imagine belonging to a bad guy). Plus although the music seems to fit the mood here and there, when it comes to the major defeats, the music really shines Cell's and Kid Buu's death were so cool in the dub.
Dragonball Kai has a really nice soundtrack too.
On topic:
Sounds cool that we have some subtle things mixed in with the game.

Reading for fun is an alien concept to some, not sure if this is an educational concern or a cultural/sociological one, probably more than one of these, either way it's quite opposite to the culture anime and anime-ish games belong to.
Yeah I agree, if you were to ask my opinion is more of a social problem branching out to cultures or any sort. And the quote I would use is the one you explain yourself with.
People here seem to be negatively predisposed to reading of any sort.
This is practically the best way to explain it. I find that some of your points are compelling and in fact true.
