TTM v3.0 problems?
Hi guys,
I'm pakman, leader of the team making TTM mutator and I ask you to help us to become better mutator. We're going to release a fixes pack in v3.1 and I know there are some things in v3.0 that aren't working quite as they were meant to be. I know that hitsounds are buggy in v3.0 (and we fixed that already and we're ready to release this fix), I know that some are bothered by new admin GUI and consider it too complicated (we'll do something about it in next next version). I'd like to get more opinons from you, TTM users. Please help us become better! Thanks in advance and please stay on topic here. EDIT: English. Last edited by PaKMaN; 12-25-2003 at 09:09 AM. |

Sweet, finally 3.0 like it was meant to be!
The only reason we don't use it is because of the hitsounds problems 3.0 had some nice features like having the ttm options in webadmin. Thank you for your hard work and we're looking forward to the next version. ![]() |

TTM 3.0 is a one big ugly bug
And this thread.. hope u got a good asbestos suit.Noone needs a adminmod, and btw even WebAdmin is easier to use. We need a vote tool, so plz remove all the needless stuff like voting on 1000 valiables and messing with the server, and bring back easy voting like in TTM 2.3 |

For some reason, I remember noticing that when you turn off "hear own footsteps," you also don't hear the enemy's footsteps. I could be wrong about that one.
Also, a lot of settings didn't stick when they were voted on, for example I voted aircontrol up a whole lot, and it'd change to the new value, but then it was impossible to vote back to the old setting (or any other setting), I had to fix it in the ini. Hope that helps.

ttm 3.0 menu to complicated? 0_o Are 8-years-old playing on pubs with ttm installed? If I remember correctly, I never had any problems with ttm 3.0. But then again almost every server is on ttm 2.3 atm. Fix those hitsounds and release!
btw keep up the good work ![]() |

I've never been able to login as an admin via the TTM interface - it just ignores my password. Did it on 2.3 as well. I have to do an adminlogin at the console to get to the admin options.
Another one was playing TDM, with unlimited time warmup. If you chose 'restart map' it would restart it fine, but it would also seem to start the countdown to play from the moment the server restarted, but before anyone joined, so you were only able to warmup if you set a timelimit on the warm up. Hmm, dunno if that's clear.

tbh theres only 2 things ive really noticed wrong with TTM v3
1. Non working Hitsounds regardless of whether they are set to on, on the server. 2. The interface - go back to how it was in 2.3 imo, it was far easier. Our server runs TTM v3 (Game.NET) but its certainly not by choice, Game.NET are unwilling to allow us to downgrade our version. Oh Pakman, ive also noticed a bug with tournament mode + warmup. If you enable Tournament Mode in webadmin, and set say Max players = 10. You also enabled Warmup in TTM Now say 8 players are in the server and all ready up, TTM trys to start the game but the server objects due to Tourney Mode. This causes the game to hang on the countdown. ie: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.. you get the gist. We had this once in a TDM War, id forgotten to change the playerlimit to 8, since it was on 10 from last TDM war. We all readied up and it hung because of this. Any chance of a fix for this?

Some of my clanmates sometimes cant fire their guns in the beginning of the game, and this only seems to happen on TTM servers.
I can't hear the footsteps of the enemy either, but I always assumed that was an UT2003 bug. Either way, if its possible to fix from TTM it would be great. Another idea (not exactly a bug though): if someone have started a vote after a map, stall the map switch for about 15 seconds so everyone can vote before the new map loads. Congies to the MSUC award btw, you deserved it. I hope you stick with us for UT2004, because I have a feeling we will need a TTM for UT2004 as well. /Kronon |

Yeh i think you've done an awesome job on TTM pak
Keep up the good work ![]() The one thing i don't particularly like in v3 is the voting, the extra voting options rule When you go to the vote menu, you vote for say, a map, and then it switches maps, then if you also wanted to turn off DD, you have to vote for that and then restart again, and so on for everything you want to vote for, you should just be able to make 1 list of stuff to vote for imo May cause other problems, i don't know, but it just doesn't seem right the way it is, its annoying and slow to have to do it this way Good post too pakman, getting peoples opinions up front on the mute and asking what things they want added could be really useful ![]() |

About time we heard from 3.1.
That might turn out to be a big hit, with all visual and audible changes off by default. 3.0 would've been that if it wasn't for the bugs. One thing that looks a bit stupid is that when you have time unlimited warmup, the clock sticks to 600:00. Maybe make a clock counting up?

I just thought of somethig else: when playing a demo that was recorded with TTM, the clock often shows strange values like -1:36. But maybe this is fixed in TTMv3 (I don't think I have checked).
Another nice little extra feature would be to allow the user to set the color of the brightskins, with 3 R-G-B sliders. /Kronon |

Seriously, I hate this mod, but congrats on the MSUC win.
I'd like to see a browser option where you can find TTM servers running only brightskins, hitsounds, mapvote, etc; if that's even possible. And some demorec and GUI improvments.

I'd really like to see default settings profiles (like TTM UT had) to change rules and options for different game types. Profiles should be unlimited in number and fully admin configurable.
There should also be an option to make individual profiles voteable by all players or just settable by admins. It should come with default profiles containing standard settings for 1v1, 2v2, TDM, FFA, CTF, BR, etc. |

Maybe it was just a glitch, as it seems fine now. Just tried the admin login, and that works fine. Can I suggest: a) having seperate fields for username and password b) putting a note pointing out the username/password are case sensitive c) have an admin logout button as well It just makes it a little more 'user friendly'. A simple-mode TTM menu would be nice, client side optional. Would just make it faster to get to the 'most used' functions. How about a 'history' drop down as well, with the last 5 or so votes selectable?
