UT2K4 Movies List

Hey all, I posted this in another forum as well but I wanted to collate the virtual landslide of new UT2K4 movies that have come out in the past few days in one place. Let me know if I left you out, I'll update frequently until the MSUC Phase IV deadline closes.

No matter who wins, I just want to be the first to say that every single person who submitted is contributing to the advancement of Machinima and UT2K4 Machinima in particular, and every single one of you absolutely rocks. If you haven't check out your competitors and peers, do so now!

(Last Edited 10/14/04 10:52 AM CST)

(List of movies removed)

The finalists and honorable mentions have been announced in a separate thread by the devs which you can find here.

http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums...hreadid=419179

As such, I'm deleting the list out of this thread so it won't conflict.

The blade movie trailer that was posted about quite awhile ago?

I don't think it even placed :-\ or maybe it was disqualified (I really don't know)

The only intro I can think of would be possibily Infection which won first place in phase 2 for it's in-game cinema work.

Cool, good idea to list them, gives me an idea of what I'm up against. It would be interesting to hear how all you guys think different movies will do, cos I really don't know. All the other movies seem better than mine, but maybe that's cos I've been watching mine for so long, I can see every minor flaw.

I think it's going to be close, I haven't downloaded all of them yet, so I wont say for deffinate. All I will say is that those I have watched have been excellent.

So good luck to everyone.

After seeing all the entries (bot and scrap still downloading) I think it is really hard to determine a clear winner. I think every single one of the movies has things going for it and I don't feel up to the task of making a definite decision.

I recon it will also be a hard job for the judges to make up their minds. I'd be interesting to know which criteria they apply to base their judgement on and how much weight is placed onto each of them...

One thing's for sure: The quality and standard of all entries is just amazing. Just imagine what would happen if all of us would band together and make one movie!

So I guess it's just wait and see for the moment. GL to everyone!

You know, once this contest (including grand finals) is over, I recon a few (if not all) of us should band together, like battleXer commented, and maybe make a feature length machinima piece in unreal.... or something along those lines.

Like he said, with all the different skills we have, bringing them together could do something truely amazing for machinima and matinee.. who knows.

I can't wait to find out the decision of the judges, but until then, the tension's going to be high.... all I can say is I'm glad I'm not judging the movies, I'd find it very hard.

In the words of battleXer: "GL to everyone"

I'm writing this on behalf of Jens 'Juliette Sierra'.

He's entered another epic matinee piece into the contest, but was unable to announce his release due to problems with his service provider 'arcor'.

He can't log into the forums for some reason and as far as I understand his submission was a little late and he is wondering whether his entry to the contest was still valid. If someone official please could send him a confirmation e-mail, I'm sure he'd appreciate it a lot.

I saw his piece and you guys should check it out aswell. Another amazing piece of work. The movie is called 'Unreal Confrontation' and can be downloaded here:

http://home.arcor.de/jsierra/UTConfrontation/

Starfury, maybe you can add this to the list of released Matinee pieces. I might start a thread on the beta releases forum on Sierras behalf, so everyone can give him some feedback.

Cheers!

Cool; I love movies done in the Game engine. When Unreal came out so so many years ago I would have never dreamed that the engine through the ages could be used to watch movies. The funny thing is that one of my best friends that is a graphic designer bought UT2K4 after I showed her "The Editer Has You" by Angel Mapper. She now uses it more that Adobe After Effects for design not only in movies but for other 3D graphic design.

Good Luck to everyone. I hope that this will get more exposure now that this great list has been created.

ive been showing these to some friends too and like me they have really been blown away by BOT...

Cancers, Scrap, Antechamber and Infiltrators also really caught some attention around here and got ppl thinking about using Matinee for some movie features in the future too

i know there are some ppl that missed the deadline with thier projects for msuc and i hope they get released anyway...

again goodluck to all and nice work!

Pretty decent movie you have there. Very very well done.
Did you open up a thread in the Full Release forums?
If not, you should!

I'm very surprised of how many high quality movies came out for the MSUC. I'm looking forward to see even more machinima in the next couple of months from all of you.

definitely upload your movie to a few other places (fileplanet, etc.) or get some mirroring for it on a UT site, havent been able to dl from that dl link, keep getting the too many connections msg.

Sorry about the 'too many connections' message - it's been a pain in our side for quite a while

But good news has come (I saved 15% on my car insurance by switching...you get the idea ;-) )

Real good news -

All the films on the UT2004 list is hosted on Machinima.com. so even if you get a error - you can still try the other mirrors that we have listed too.

The list is in our headline section. (http://www.machinima.com/news.php)

Thank you
