::Paradise Isle::Download link::3/21::

Since all my other parks seem to fail in some kind of way; whether it be lag, or it doesn't seem to all fit together; I'm going to continue with a concept that I started with: an island park.

Some of you may have remembered my two attemps at "Exploration Island". To me, that was my best park, it's too bad that I ran out of ideas for more rides, which eventually led to it's downfall.

But, all hope is not lost, as I'm trying to enhance my skills with a brand new island themed park:

This is a fairly small park, as it will only consist of 4 areas:

Crystal Pier

Rides: Ye Olde Boatery is the only ride in crystal pier. If I had my way(if elevators were considered something among the likes of paths so that entrances and exits weren't needed), there would be another "ride" that will let you view the wildlife under the ocean level. In some screens, I'll show you where I would have put this.
Shops: There are many shops in Crystal Pier. You have the Harbour House series of restaurants in the entrances to the pier. Also included is "Fluffenstuff's Candy Shoppe", and old classic of mine.
Other: Crystal Pier may look like it would be the entrance to the park, but it is not. The entrance will not be glamorous at all, just a side note on an area of the park.

Crescent Moon Crater

Rides: TBA. Not sure of what I'm going to do, besides the fact that it will be an indoor coaster.
Shops: TBA. The gift shops will most likely outnumber the food stalls.
Other: This area, being limited for space, will most likely be very crammed together. I'm hoping it turns out okay.

The Northern Slopes

Rides: TBA. A bobsled might run through these mountains in the northern section of the park, but that remains to be seen.
Shops: Hardly any stalls of any kind will be included.
Other: Much of this area will be empty, to keep framerates at a playable speed. Much of it will consist of it's main ride.

Mount Eruptus

Rides: Escape From Eruptus. This ride will send you up a volcano at nearly 100 MPH. You will be sent through loops and twists through the plains where lava flows through.
Shops: Many food stores will be in this section.
Other: This is my main inspiration for the park. I get the inspiration for this from Pompeii, and other Italian cities such as Venice. The architecture will resemble those cities, hopefully.

Construction for Crystal Pier is nearly complete, just a few minor touches to add, but it will all be done at the completion of the park(this would be my first...)

SCREENS: (bout time, eh?)

^This is where that underwater ride would be. See, I even put the fake windows in there so that I could pretend it's actually there...^

Hope you like it!

Those shots are excellent YNH! Crystal Pier's a winner already! Hope you can keep it going - yep, the lag is like the monster of the night, it sneaks up on you...then ...never mind.

Anyway, great stuff!

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I wish I could get reflective water. Oh well, it looks pretty cool as is.

Anyway, I did some more on Crystal Pier. Also, Crescent Moon Crater has started construction....

I'd give you the park download, but I don't know where to upload the file to...

Anyway, the park is done. Here's some final screenshots:

Not much, but I just needed a small project to work on while I think up of a new idea.

Hope you like it!

Wow, I just love this little park. The little cove with the piers has such a great seaside feel to it. It's just great overall. Would be very interested in downloading your park. Great job, again!

Just one cool feature I'll mention - that way you snuck the water ride under the docks. Great idea! Are you going to put some sort of firework/particle effect in Mt. Eruptus?

Sorry man, I can't. Not that I don't want to, I physically can't. I deleted the park while trying to clean out my computer so that it wouldn't be so congested, and I deleted this, along with many of my other parks.

But yeah, this park is one of my favorites. Mainly because it's the only one I've ever completed.

Your parks are awesome!! Congrats!! A question you may be able to help me with. First, How do you build the docks and the water under them? Do you build first and then add the water?
How do you get high buildings like that? When you make your shops, can you build around a booth or are the shop buildings just for looks? Thanks for any help you can give and again, great work with your parks!!

Yes, I build first, and then add the water. It's easier that way.

High buildings? They aren't very high, they're just 3 stories at the max. I use the shift button though, to stack the walls on top of each other if that's what you mean.

And the shop buildings actually house shops, yes. On this park I just put the walls around the shops on other tiles. In some of my other parks, I use the m brookes cheat and some options.txt tweaks so that I can disable collision detection with the shops.

Oh, and thanks for bringing my thread back from the dead!

Thank you so much for the info and your quick reply-What is the cheat that you are talking about? I know you can name your peeps certain names and that will enable the cheats--what does the one you mentioned do?

You have to have Soaked! first.

If you rename a peep M Brookes, it will allow you to put walls on the same tiles as paths and I think it works for shops too.

But I use the options.txt tweaks to put walls in the shops, so I can hide them even more and make them look more realistic. There's a thread in the Veteran's Discussion forum that explains it all.

Your Mt. Ereptus could now go through the volcano. I would love to see you update this park with Soaked!

No need to look forward to this park. As you see, it's finished and there won't be any more construction.
