On a similar picture, you see a little smiley on it. And with it i mean the flak ball!

There won't be thousands of polygons on a level, there will be millions
Sounds interesting. I heard about a similar quote:

Quote:
In the next Unreal Tournament game, the amount of polygons needed for one character model will be equivalent to the amount of polygons needed for a whole UT99 level.

yeah screenshots look impressive, the power of the engine will be huge.. doesnt make a game good tho, so we'll see.

havent they learned anything? *cough staticmeshes*

im gonna be sceptic about it ut2006 tbh first see how much they really listened to us, the effort of listening to your customers will show a better result than any graphical engine.

the screens that say "1" is how its supposed to be, the screens with the "2" is how i expect it to be.
Dont say im whining when im just doing what im supposed to do on a forum, its purpose, giving your opinion. I'll start whining when it turns out im right. (because i might be wrong too)

Staticmeshes isn't the problem, it's how they are used that is the problem ^^ And I certainly hope that they have learned from their mistakes in UT2003, I personally think that they learned from this for UT2004 so it should be even better for UT2006

I'm concerned about the movementnerfing though... I just hope they don't remove everything that makes the UT2003/4 movement great... but since UT was and is still fun despite the lack of dodgejumps I guess the UT2006 can be just as good without it Hopefully they won't make it to easy to master though... it's fun when you can still be amazed by some players movement...

The last screenshot (is it Malcolm?) looks similar to a real person.

My GeforceFX 5700 won´t run it at all I think.

If you read the article you'd know that they are testing the gameplay only at the moment. The level you see there purposely is devoid of shizzle.

Any chance we (9600 users) can run it on low settings? That would kick ass if it was possible to run it on my current system, I'd buy a year's supply of Bagels for Epic, make a shrine, and give them my first born.
