Thanks guys!

I actually did the terraforming, footprints and paths way back in Febuary or March... it's been a long time coming. I'm glad it's impressive, but I wish I were getting more than 5 FPS, and not even a 5th through the park.

VERY nice job so far. Beautiful terraforming! It wasn't long ago that I actually played that game for the first time. Everything looks right on! I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks, shyguy. Yeah, the terraforming took quite a while, and it is still in progress.

I wish I could say "More coming soon," but it's going to be a few months. What you see is all I have.

But I'm very proud of that video.

This immediately caught my attention, since I always saw the announcement in your sig and wondered if that park really existed.
And I do believe that your game starts to lag, because it`s a huge project that you started there. That first picture, especially with the zelda-logo, really looks like it could be a screenshot from the videogame. I played the game a long time ago but didn`t finish it... But Kokiri Forest and the Great Deku Tree bring back some memories. Wasn`t that where you started the game?
Anyway, in terms of a Zelda recreation it´s looking awesome. I guess you were playing Ocarina a lot in between to compare the settings.

I`d really be interested what you based your rides on...

Good luck with that epic project! I`ll watch the video now.

Edit: Wow, the whole camera movement somehow felt like in a video-game. And I guess part of my question got answered. You put a wild mouse coaster in the Deku Tree! I remember shooting spiders with my catapult. Really nice video!

Thanks Saskro.

Yes, it's BIG. VERY BIG. Almost TOO BIG. Almost.

And yeah, that's the feel I'm trying to go for... very similar to in-game. I'm glad I've accomplished that to an extent. In order to do that, yeah, my N64 was on pretty much the entire time I was working on this.

Yep, Wild Mouse seemed right for that. The coasters will be placed at all the levels, a few in the Field to tie everything together, a Zelda Coaster at the Castle, Horse Race in Lon Lon, and cap it off with Link vs. Ganon.... 16 Coasters in all, with all the accomanying flat rides and stalls.

As far as the flow, I plan on progressing through this park just as Link progressed in the game. So, once Wild! is released, the next stop is Hyrule Town and Castle.

EDIT: Thanks, FktheDuck. Ganon's Tower (for the Link vs. Ganon dueling coasters) is probably going to have to be in an edited copy of the park, since it's supposed to go right where Hyrule Castle is.

I missed the video. So now I watched it. Didn't realize the Deku Tree was a coaster. Great Job! What a fun ride! I'll look forward to seeing more when you get to it.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, because its so huge. Its exceptional though. About as good of a recreation as I can remember. I better see some horses in Lon Lon Ranch once you get Wild!.

Edit: I'm so glad you have the inside of the Great Deku Tree.
Looks great.

Are you going to have a sandstorm in the Haunted Wastleland?

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll find some places for animals around the park. I'll leave it at that.

The Haunted Wasteland WILL have a sandstorm, as I remember seeing a sandstorm effect available at RCTPyro.com. I just hope it's still there by the time I get to it.

I've also somehow got to get a smoke ring around Death Mountain.... it may call for a staging park.

Thanks again, glad you guys like it. I wish I could have more for ya, but it's not possible for a few months.

Give me a minute whilst I gather my jaw up from the floor...

...

Wow. [double take] Uhm... wow.. I... wow...

Ocarina, as with many other Zelda fans, will always hold a special place in my heart. This is astonishing.... Rarely am I rendered speechless... incredible.

It's gonna be an overnighter to download the video [curses my dialup yet again!!!] But, the screens are breathtaking.

OMFreakingFG!!!!, this is the most amazing videogame recreation ever, I remember every part of the game and its the smae in this recreation, and what to say about the Kokiri Forest and the video of the Deku tree, OMG! The wild mouse was fantastic the Deku tree was amzing, the work of a genius, and the Kokiri village was the same master work as the one of Miyamoto. Well done! I hope to see more when Wild! is reeased. You even have all the paths as the game, its freaking awesome, I have to show this to all my Zelda Fans friends

Aww, guys, thanks.

I love to see that my "masterpiece" that has been one of the only parks that I've kept up with is going over so well, and I lamment that I have to wait to do more on it.

I can talk about what I've done so far though:

Transport Rides:
- Hyrule Transit Line (Monorail) - with stops in the Park Entrance, The Lost Woods, Zora's Domain, Goron City, Kakariko, Hyrule Castle, The Desert Colossus, Gerudo's Fortress, Lake Hylia, and Lon Lon Ranch.

Water Rides:
Hyrule Field:
- Ruto's Flume (Log Flume)

Kokiri Forest:
-Kokiri Pond (Rowboats)

Flat Rides:
Hyrule Field:
- Hyrule Field Carousel
- Poe's Disco
- Stalchild's Swings (Spooky Swings)
- Peahat (Swings)
- Talon's Mini-Golf
- Tekite Mulcher (Twist)
- Red Octorok (Monster)

Lon Lon Ranch
- Ingo's Stable Bulls (Mechanical Bull Ride)

Kokiri Forest:
- Saria's Spinner (Rotor)
- Mido's Dodgems

Lost Woods: (yes, they're all UNDER the canopy)
- The Lost Slide (Giant Slide)
- Lost Woods Adventure (Monster Trucks)
- Skull Kid's Kaos

Coasters:
Hyrule Field:
- Epona's Run (Horse Racers)
- Link's Courage (Looping)
- Zelda's Wisdom (Miniature)
- Ganon's Power (Wooden) (needs rebuilding)

Lon Lon Ranch:
- Lon Lon Races (Racing Horse Racers)

Kokiri Forest:
- The Great Deku Tree (Wild Mouse)

@ytivarg: I'm sorry about the 36MB size, man. I could upload a 10MB one tonight, but you'll probably have the big one by then. Besides, the little one's quality sucks... I'm still getting used to Windows Movie Editor.

@Pumper(JCat): Thanks, I have NO IDEA when it will be done, or how playable it will be by the time I'm done. But as long as it is openable, I'll have it for download (as well as the "mirror park" I'm going to need for Ganon's Tower and the best rides of the park)

@Joe: I recommend the game with all my heart.

@GTMAC: Yeah, between myself and sounding off iseppi for comments (you can tell by the first few Field pics that Lon Lon orginally had a castle wall around it. ), I've been being as acurate as I can be. The plan is to maintain accuracy up to the point where a good amusement park can be maintained. Evidence of changes can be seen especially in the addition of the "Triforce Coasters" in Hyrule Field and the Hyrule Transit Line connecting the points of the park.

EDIT: @EBITUSA16: The temple in the desert is the Spirit Temple, and is more of an Egyptian/Indian/Mayan temple. The temple of darkness is the Shadow Temple in Kakariko's Graveyard I've saved a spot for it. Oh, and in the day I'm getting about 6 fps paused, about 3 fps unpaused, but I've got a pretty low 'puter. That's why I'm trying to be so accurate: This park is going to end up being for display of pics and videos mostly. I just hope I can finish it before I hit a "crash threshold"

Thanks again for the praise, guys. It's pretty good validation that I haven't been wasting my time with this game.

Nope I got it right.

I had to refresh myself before starting it, and on some things I've been helped by others like iseppi.

And sadly, I don't think you'll ever see it for XBox, as the Zelda franchise isn't 3rd party, but Nintendo owned. Sorry man.

Well, they re-released it for the GameCube for a special deal (and actually has a whole other level that I've never played!, the Temple of Light) so you might be able to find it used. I recommend that anyone who doesn't have a GameCube to GET ONE, since they're cheap and Zelda: The Twilight Princess (!!!!!) comes out in March sometime. They're trying to make that game to surpass Ocarina.

The buttons on the GCN controller are the same as the N64, just in a different configuration and with X and Y buttons. IMHO, it's the most functional, the most intuitive, and the most comfortable controller of the 3 consoles.

Wind Waker was good, but is was a little too cartoony and the hunt for the Triforce Pieces was lame.

Twilight Princess is billed as the spiritual successor to The Ocarina of Time, and is going to do a damn good job of it.

I recommend checking out the trailers on IGN.... it makes OoT look like the SNES Zelda!

The plan is to finish this park before that game comes out, because once it does, I might not be playing this very often.

Wow. That's gonna be some detailed park. Loving it.
I remeber Zelda when it first came out. Played for hours and hours and hours. My brother and I would take turns playing Legend of Zelda til the wee hours of the morning just to get to the next boss.

My first Zelda was actually The Adventure of Link, the second one, and I've been hooked ever since. Thank God I don't have any of the GameBoys, otherwise I'd be spending money on that as well.

Anyways, the one thing I WILL be doing for this park in the beta interim is learning custom scenery. Here's the things I need:

Triforce Wall Ornament

Temlple Medallion Wall Ornaments

Temple Warp Point Pedastals (like the Marble Slab Piece)

Quarter Tile Crate

....Nothing fancy, just OoT specific stuff to fill out the scenery requirements of the park. I don't think that figurines and enemy statues are needed. I'm just a simple man.
