look at this (ut2004)

I was reading in a magazine that was laying in the store, and i saw an article about UT2004. I didn't believe what i saw. I saw pictures that aren't released on the internet yet. As you can see on the cover of this magazine, i believe it is one of the robot's that people want bad in UT2004. I didn't buy the magazine because i am to cheap to pay € 5.40 of 1 article. But this article was great, new skaarj models and a shot of a plane flying over someking of egyptian city in the middle of the night, it was AWESOME !!! Why are these pictures not released yet or did i miss something !?[IMG]

If you could mention WHAT magazine you have read, perhaps someone else can find it and scan it for the forum here...

EDIT, Nevermind, you just edited your post and added the shot...

well i didn't but the magazine and the picture i got of the net, i couldn't find the article anywhere. I might still go and but it because it was so freaking unbelievably great. But still € 5.40 for one article is expensive, maybe Epic can release those screens for us ?

Yeah I've seen those pics. I don't see what the big problem is with posting screen shots. It's like everything with ut2004 is suppose to be a big surprise. Releasing some new screen shots every week isn't going to hurt the game. So hook us up Epic!

i REALLY dont like what theyve done with the scaarj tusks- the rest of the model is pretty cool, but the tusks are totally wrong (and look stupid), have they forgotten the other 3 games?

The only difference is that UT2004 will also include software rendering for pc's without a 3d card.
I quote:
"Of course you have to tone down your resolution when you play in software rendering, but we are convinced that a lot of gamers without a powerful system can now enjoy the UT2004 gameplay, even though the graphics are less detailed."
- Steven Polge

I don't know what the hell software rendering means, but it sounds like an improvement to me

I think thats because it's the female model, the male one looks better.

software rendering is what makes the game look ugly but also renders everything using only the CPU... so even if you have a crappy videocard the game could run...

It means that the CPU does all the work, the graphic card just sends the info the the screen. That's how it was done before the time of 3d accelerator cards.

You kids should really check what was going on back then

You will need one hell of a CPU to make it look good. I think PC with really powerfull processors have descent 3Dcards in most cases, but for people who don't this is a real sollution.
