Lake Winnipesauka this Thursday or Friday

Hey, just thought I'd mention that I was heading up to Like Winniepesauka in Rossville, Georgia, (just about a mile south of the GA/TN border,) and I was wondering if anyone was interested in joining me, especially those who had been there before. I've never seen the park, and was wondering what sort of rides they had. I know that there's three coasters there, one wooden, one wild mouse, and a kiddie coaster, but what else do they have? Do I need to plan on being there a full day to see everything, or can I plan on doing something else, such as the Chattanooga Aquarium, later in the day?

Last year, I spent about two hours at Lake Winnie, and I managed to do all the rides in the park (even the Wacky Worm). Of course, I tend to go at a very quick pace. Certainly, 4 hours should be sufficient.

Cannon Ball was an enjoyable wood coaster. Wild Lightnin' was a fairly typical Wild Mouse coaster.

I really enjoyed the Boat Chute. It's an old shoot-the-chutes ride, splashing down into the lake.

Lake Winnie is a small park, but I found it to be enjoyable.

Have a great time!

Looks like the weather is going to cancel my plans for this weekend. I'll try again in about a week or so.

Isn't the Shoot The Chutes at Lake Winnie the only one left in the world? I heard that somewhere on this board, and I'm very interested in going there because of that ride. (One of a kind historical ride within 2 hours of my house... can't pass it up.) Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not?

I know it's the only one left in the U.S. I can't say for certain if it's the only one in the world, but I don't know of any others.

By the way, when I was at Lake Winnie in 2002, it reminded me a bit of RCT1. There was a general admission charge, and a per-ride charge. Wrist bands were available for P.O.P., but you couldn't buy them at the same time that you paid for your general admission -- you had to get the wrist bands inside the park.

Last night, I took a quick look at my notes for Lake Winnie. It looks like I preferred the front over the back for Cannon Ball. I felt the coaster was approximately on a par with Cedar Point's Blue Streak (built in 1964). It makes sense, since Cannon Ball had the same designer (John Allen), and was built 3 years after Blue Streak.

Squid...
Been trying to Reply to this post for several days! No luck until today....

Let me know when you do decide to go to Lake Winnie....I might could meet you there...It's a fun little park! It's just a family park with a few rides...VERY relaxing, just kinda neat...(ACE event there on Sept. 7 for all you Acers)

Also, the Aquarium is REALLY nice, and walking around Chattanooga is fun...
If you are looking for other fun things to do in the surrounding area, you might try "the Lost Sea"...America's largest underground lake...it's pretty cool...
Also, the Mayfield Dairy tour is cool (and free), and for only $1, you get a HUGE scoop of great Ice Cream (you don't have to do the tour to get the Ice Cream)
Both of these are North of Chattanooga on I-75

Well, I'm going to try one last time this weekend. I believe the park closes for the season very soon, and I want to get there while I still can. Joshua H, want to try again?
