Ace?

Is there any user on this forum that is a member of ACE (Harpo?)?

I assume if you a member then you know what it stands for.

I was just wondering if it was worth the $50.

ACE=American Coaster Enthusist. IMO not really worth the $50. You don't get anything special at parks. I had the misfortune of hitting SFMM in June of last year, on the same day as the annual ACEr convention. Man that place was packed. It was also a Monday and I still had to wait in line for every coaster.

Yes, I know what it is. No, I'm not a member, so I can't tell you whether it's worth it. However, I do know that several parks run special events for ACE members. SFOG did when they removed Viper from the park, for a last day of riding.

I think it's worth it!
You get 2 cool Magazines (Rollercoaster! and ACE News) and invites to Special Events at parks. At the ACE Events, you usually get a few hours of Exclusive Ride Time (ERT) on the rollercoasters. I guess it would depend on how much of an enthusiast you are as to wheither it is worth the $50, and how often you could make it to the events...I personally would recommend it!
www.aceonline.org is the website!

I've been an ACE member since 2000, primarily for the publications. I enjoy reading about what's going on, so it's worth it to me. However, I've not yet been to an ACE event -- they just never seem to happen at the right time for me! Oh well.

Some parks do offer discounts, or special ride times, or various other benefits to ACE members. It never hurts to ask at the parks, even if they don't publicly mention the discounts.
