Multiple registrations?

Well, I singed up for Horizons (I bet you knew I was going to say that, right?) but there's a problem. I originally signed up when beta sign up became available earlier this year, through gamespot.com. For various reasons, I had to shut down the email that I used for that application, and since I couldn't find any way to edit the app, I submitted a new one with my new email address. Once I submitted them, they poofed into the ether. I think there was a confirmation once the form was submitted, but nothing else. Once I started to read the forums at horizonsvault.com, I found out about this place and created an account. I've now got it in my requested assignments (still listed as pending, of course) but my question is, are all these previous sign ups going to count against me? I didn't know about betatests.net when I submitted them. I've been following the game for about 3 years, and I'd hate to think that because I signed up more than once I'd be barred from beta testing. I didn't lie about my identity on any of my applications or anything.

I don't believe it cancels multiple IP accounts at the moment, but I wouldn't be suprised if it did in the future, as this gives some people an unfair advantage to test.

Unfortunatly, this is how one of my friend's got in. He registered for himself under like 3 different emails. Me being honest, and actually having one account nuked seems to have cut my chances. But I can't fault Atari for it, as they're still choosing randomly.

Well, I didn't want to sign up multiple times. If there had been a way to edit the first app, I wouldn't have had to sign up multiple times. I would have joined here first, but at the time, I don't think this web site existed. Atari was still Infogrames at that time.

BetaTests.net has been active before Infogrames changed to Atari (at E3), but the forums for the betatesting community have not.

I signed a second account up because my first seemed to be a bit too buggy, it had password problems and such. After I just signed the second account up, when I tried to log on to my second it opened my first, which just confused me... But now I can get in both... too wierd...

I had the same problem. I just had the betatestsadmin merge the two accounts together. Last thing I wanted to do is break that multiple account rule.

Send an email to betatestadmin@atari.com and explain that you have two accounts. They'll gladly connect the two under one single username/pass for ya.

I've just tested, and there's nothing stopping me from creating a second account. It did seem to carry my active beta assignments to that account (using the same CD keys, etc), which leads me to believe that once you get into a beta, it counts for all your account. It may just be my computer cacheing the page though.

This is true, however if I may quote from the main page...

Quote:
Hello Beta Testers.
We have a new email address to help answer your questions that arise from CD mail-outs and registration problems. That email address is betatestadmin@atari.com. Please know that you can only have one account in the Atari beta test system and having more that one disk does not allow you access to more than one character in games within the beta test system.
The bold section is up for some interpretation, but apparently they're hoping for the honor system for proper picking of testers as opposed as to who's registering the most.

Just my 2 bucks
