is Horizons beta closed until open ?

I hate to repost but the last one got a bit off topic.

I would love an offical answer about the possibility of more beta testers being added before the open or if it is totally closed until the open release.

Also, is there any ballpark idea when open beta will be?

I am not complaining about being pending, but I am sure you can understand my excitement.

Well, I heard David Bowman saying something along the lines of will our open test be like Asherons call where hundreds of thousands of clients are distributed? no... there will just be a few more users accepted! Sorry, i cant find the link where i read this

so i dont think anyone is gauranteed a spot in the open beta except those already accepted!!

if(Open_Beta.acceptProb < 100) OpenBeta = ClosedBeta ;

// Look like the system was just getting our hopes up ...
// There is either a bug somewhere or someone is smoking
// crack and forgot what an open beta is .

Though we are adding far less people than before, it is still possible to be selected for Horizons beta.

Does this mean that they're beginning to close up the beta? I thought with most cases they add only a small amout of users at first, then start to build up until it goes up beta.

Thank you Betatestadmin

You gave me an answer to my question. It is good to hear, now I know there is a chance but more important hearing any news on Hozions is good to hear. I check several websites daily looking for any type of update as I am sure most people who are interested are doing.

I am not going to go on as to why I should beta test or anything, however I would love any type of ETA of beta or possible release dates.

Just all the possibilities make this game so attractive, as many it is hard to wait for.

You better test this thing well , 'cause if you dont do your job right and screw up horizon cause of poor testing , I can assure you , that for every bad critic horizon will get , I will be behind commenting on the fact that www.betatests.net screwed up . You need to REALLY stress test that **** out , 'cause the day that freakin game come out , you can expect at least as many peoples on the server as there are that signed up to that beta .

Reviewers never blame a public beta for "screwing up the game". The blame either goes to the publisher or the developers, because it would be ultimatly their fault.

grats, now as much as i hate to say this, but don't talk about it here, per the agreement you have entered with Atari... I am glad to hear someone else got it, hope you enjoy it.

Most of important, please report the bugs the correct way they have set up. Help make it better for the rest of us.

There is still the open beta to go, where David Bowman has stated more people will be added, AND the european beta.

But everyone who applies wont get into open beta, just a larger percentage then previously

At least thats my understanding correct me if wrong official people!

The "open" Horizons beta means, that there will be invited much more people and the NDA will be lifted, so all other people will be able to get much more inforamtion about the game.

keep up the good work beta testers! you're gonna be why such a great game gets better. Through your dedicated work and bug report, the game will have that much less frustration to whom ever peels away that shrink wrap and gets the wiff of the card board box smell. Oh the lovely smell of a new game! I smile every time i set a game into my cd tray and double click the pretty little icon on my desktop and my game starts with out error. Thank you beta-testers!
