Ok I just got this game and I need some help with my computer specs.

When I got the game, I noticed my specs are a little off.

Here's what I am running

Athlon 1.1 GHz
Radeon 9200, 128 MB RAM
640 MB SDRAM
Direct X 9.0c
Windows XP

So, before I break open the game. How well do you think it will run on my system? Should I give it a shot or take it back before I open it? Thanks.

My processor is a little slow, but things seem to be working fine in the demo. I have been trying out the tutorial, and I don't notce a lag. Is the graphics tutorial as intensive as it the game gets, or do you think I will have some problems with frame rate and such?

It's easy, just follow this one simple rule.

When there is a playable demo, get it and try it before you buy the full retail version of the game.

Sounds like your system should run it from what the box lists as specs. I don't have this one yet, but from the in-game movies I've seen it looks like the upper options will run real slow on most systems out there right now.

Yeah, check out the demo first. I don't think it is going to run on your machine.

The min spec for the processor is 1.5 ghz.

CPU power tends to be over-rated a lot of the time. Sure the system needs some, but for games a lot of the crunch is in the video card.

My specs:

Athlon 1467 Mhz CPU
GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb
512 SDRAM
Win98SE

I play on 1024x768x32, with 4xAA, 2xAF, medium details, and it plays ok for me, little choppy in big battles, but not too bad.

I tried it on 800x600x32, and it looked a lot worse, and didn't improve anything. I think, with a lot of units on the map, the CPU might be a bottleneck, but I'm not sure.

You probably should upgrade that CPU if possible (hopefully you wouldn't have to do the mobo too), or, if you can't, go back to Win98. You don't really have the juice to use the extra features XP has anyway.

I've stuck with Win98, and had zero trouble running any game, as long as I'm at least in the ballpark when it comes to specs. I've never had to tweak anything, just keep the drivers fairly current.
