Not a crash but an error ! We are making progress !!!

Hi dear A&A lovers ...

I did update my Mobo Bios and Graphic drivers again ! And played the game again ofcourse ...
We did not have a crash today but an error-screen with dump-file !!!

This is more than i had a few days ago ...

So we send the .log and dump file to timegate and maybe they can find out what the problem really is or give me a tip so i can at last buy the game !!!

Greetings from a hopefull Holland !!!

I purchased the game lastnight at Wal-Mart actually. Being a fan of the boardgame with the same name, I just had to buy it.

However, the game is full of bugs. I ALWAYS crash to the desktop within' 20 minutes of playing the game! They need a fix!!

I use Windows 2000 Pro, with a P4 3.0 Ghz CPU, and 512 MB DDR RAM. I don't see my computer having any problems running this game.

Please TimeGate, do something.

Send your error to timegate ...

In your A&A directory is a folder logs. You can find a log file and maybe a dmp file from that game that crashed. Zip them and send them to support@timegate.com
Also you can add a report from dxdiag ...

Succes

I haven't heard anything anymore and i have the feeling there are a lot of complaints ...

Timegate staff isn't posting anything on the Atari forums. It's a shame since there are a lot of players using these forums. Check the Timegate forums though, you can get a response from the developers there.

Me too

Chalk me up as one more with the lock up problem. Nothing short of a cold reboot resets it. CTRL-ALT-DEL has not effect. I'll keep checking in here. Please post if anyone comes up with a fix.

The weirdest thing

This weekend i have been playing A & A every day and certanly for a couple of hours ... : NO CRASH <-- do you get it ?

I haven't updated any drivers since the last time and with the same drivers it crashed several times.

I also haven't changed anything on the computer and the same programs are running ...

Maybe the game crashed because it was october or early november ? LOL

But you don't here me complainin but i still wonder ...

I think I fixed my problem

Here's what I did. Upgraded my computer's BIOS, upgraded the Intel chipset, upgraded the sound card driver, upgraded the video card driver. Since then, no lock-ups. Good luck everyone!

Please note that upgrading your BIOS is not advised for computer novices, but it can help. Hard locks/freezes, like the ones described above, are often the results of out-of-date drivers or old motherboard BIOS's. Upgrading any/all of your drivers (including motherboard chipset drivers) and updating your motherboard's BIOS can often help.
