error on install

error on install
Hi , im about to recieve a free copy of A&A from a promoter for a review of the game.. its in the mail now.. Well while im waiting to get the game in the mail i tried to download the demo.
Well i keep getting a error on install.
I have updated all my drivers.
I have enough to run the game.
But i get this error.

Error Code: -5004 : 0x80029c4a
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (1931)
pAPP:Axis & Allies Demo
PVENDOR:Atari
PGUID:80BF3273-80FD-4A24-8E60-E07356F2DB31
$7.1.100.1248PAK
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 0.64

Is there anything i can do?
Yes i have directx 9 , all the drivers are updated and have enough to run the game..
Think its SP2??
How can i get around this .
Thanks

Hopefully you saw my reply in the other post, but here it is to keep it in thread.

Quote:
The error is in the installer.

Try re-downloading the demo to a new location, and check your system for any virus.

Clean out your TEMP files, installers often have problems writing to a new temp location and can drag up bits of software you previously installed.

Hopefully you have enough drive space, but check that and also run a DEFRAG on the drive when you get a chance.
Thanks for posting to the right place

It installed on my XP SP2 laptop and I don't have near as much space as you have.

It's an installer! It isn't likely going to take a lot to make it work, certainly anything coming close to the system requirements of the game SHOULD install it just fine.

Try and disable your anti-virus software then re-install. I don't see anything from the error output that would give a good indication as to what caused it to have an error. The -5004 is likely some kind of error code that the programmers could identify.

Try posting on the A&A Support Forums at TimeGate Studios

I'm not registered there and the site seems to be still picking up speed, but I would take advantage of having two places to go for support.
