Odd behaviour by A&A

So, I start the game and I play it for like 3 straight hours (eyes were blurry), no crashes whatsoever (uh, did I say that's a first!?)

That was last night. Today I come home from work, no-one has touched my PC - I wanna play A&A, and guess what... just as the titlescreen comes up and it writes "Loading Resources", a crash... Oh no!

Game's been out for long time, no word yet of a official patch. How difficult can it be to correct these crash-issues?
The game is absolutely ACE, but it's somewhat frustrating that one has to save every 5 mins because you never know when it will crash next time.

Thumps up for an excellent game, thumps back down for a not so excellent work on the patch.

Could it be because I'm from the Football Manager (Sports Interactive work) community, where a patch is due to come out almost as soon as you file just a few errors? (Okay, exaggerating there, but hey...)
