options.txt "cheats" with NEW Soaked Expansion keywords.

QUICK GUIDE:

Add the following text to "C:\Documents and Settings\[your Windows username]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3\Options.txt" to disable scenery-terrain, scenery-scenery, and track-track collision detection:

Quote:
AttractionSceneryAllowTerrainIntersect 1
AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect 1
TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect 1

JohncJ's easy-to-use options.txt editing program here.

------------------------------------------------------------

Important Public Service Announcement: '"LevelTerrainUnderTracks 0" appears to disable the auto-tunneling feature of Wild."'

------------------------------------------------------------

Someone apparently figured out how to get rollercoasters to go through mountains and said to add "AttractionSceneryAllowTerrainIntersect 1" so that rollercoasters could go through terrain in:

C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3\Options.txt

I figured he must have gotten the "AttractionSceneryAllowTerrainIntersect" stuff and searched the RCT3.exe file. I found a BUNCH of options that are NOT in the options menu in game, and many that are as well.

The most DECEIVING ONE is "RidesDontBreakDown". It actually makes your rides more reliable, but when they DO break down, you need to delete the ride and rebuild it... the mechanics will never fix them, only inspect. (only happens with flat rides, I think..... I might be wrong)

Here are the three lines that I added to my regular options.txt list.

Quote:
AttractionSceneryAllowTerrainIntersect 1
AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect 1
TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect 1
Here is the entire list..

Very interesting. For those people who are always complaining about scenery collision detection, maybe the "AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect" setting would be useful.

Heh-heh, the "TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect" sounds like it could introduce some real mayhem!

Thanks for the list, it really helps, especially with collision detection problems. Let's just hope no n00bs use the "TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect" to waste peoples' time, of course, this will definately be used by those imaginative ones who want things like railroad crossings for their rides, lol, it's funny just to think about them.

not sure exactly what AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect allows, but new structures can't intersect with anything still

It means that if you build a ride or a single piece of scenery it can go through the scenery

That's all it can really do though. But muiltiple circuit runs is rarely needed (whenever it is, I believe it's provided in the ride operation options.)

Great find dude!

I am having loads of fun with the TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect trick. It helps with unrealistic collision detections that I come across every now and then. Heh, I just made a ride where it looks like you're about to hit a train coming at you, but you block brake, the train S-Bends out of your way, and you continue along.

Fun stuff!

it's options... nothing too sinister. Just rename the original options.txt to options2.txt in case you're afraid you will mess up...

Oh man this is awesome! The TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect will help alot with my coaster track sculptures!
By the way does the no break down thing also work for stall? If so, then this will be very useful as well!

Oh and SkipBannerSequence & SkipStartScreen!? Woot!

Oh and TrackEditBackwardsLikeRCT2 sounds very intreresting....

[edit] What exactly does "AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect" do? I thought it would let me interesect scenery peices but it didn't...

Can we have a screenie of what it looks like? I dont think it'll have an the actual tunnel bit, will it? Or the path/coaster just go straight into the ground?

RidesDontBreakDown 1 will make rides break down MUCH LESS OFTEN (95% reduction), but they will still break down eventually, I've found.

the scenery scenery intersect I'm not exactly sure about yet...

AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect 1 is the correct path to list for building underground rides.

View my new thread MOUNTAIN PARK RESORT and you will see what that does for ride construction.

I am going to bookmark this page and try it when I'm less tired and less prone to screw up. If I have any funkyness to share, I'll be sure to post a picture. At least the coaster train didn't explode as it went trough the one in the station...

Cool find

Happy gaming

This list has some amazing options. About this AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect thing - if you save a park with this "on" - will anyone downloading the park have to change this option on their side for them to see the same results (or will their RCT3 just weird out or something? Man this function will be amazingly useful!

I was wondering if the option.txt file was the one in C:/program files/atari/rct3/options.txt., or if I needed to make: C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3\Options.txt.
for this to work mine only goes toC:\Documents and Settings\[your username],. I don"t have:\Application Data\Atari\RCT3\Options.txt
thank you.

You probably have Windows set so it doesn't show hidden files and folders. To change this:
- Open up the 'C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\' folder.
- Select 'Folder Options' from the 'Tools' menu.
- Click the 'View' tab.
- Find the line 'Do not show hidden files and folders'.
- Select the option just below it - 'Show hidden files and folders'.
- Click OK.

You should now see a faint-yellow folder called 'Application Data'. The above sequence works with WinXP, earlier versions of Windows may be somewhat different but the same general process applies.

Hope this helps...
