Missing text\txt01.txt...

Can anyone explain this? Im running on XP by the way. I've tried everything. I changed the virtual memory to 512 and I've tried installing 1.08 but it's missing the file: text\txt01\txt.

Okay, what does it miss then? The topic title, or this invalid file you just typed here?
Anyways, do you have the original CD? It seems as the installer missed some files. The virtual memory settings and 1.08 patch corrects the absence of a different file that occures from characterset incompatibility. I don't know what the cause of this problem is. Try reinstalling the game or checking with someone for the files who has a proper install.

I ment using the +setconsole1 command line. Unless I was misinformed and the console is only used in Imperium Galactica 1...?

There's no console mode in either part 1 or 2!

This smart page for example gives you the cheats for Imperium Galactica under Imperium Galactica 2. IG2 features no cheats whatsoever. Prolly they just can't write, 'sorry, no cheats for this game' they need the visitors.

What they should do then is not post anything at all under IG2. What are the odds of so many sites with the same results?

But anyway, I have renewed interest in installing the patches, but I need the file "text\txt01.txt" to install them. Anyone have a copy I can have?

Didnt work. It keeps saying "You havent run setup yet!", even though I have. And when I try to run setup from the warning message, it brings up "unable to load file text\txt01.txt".

Not sure if this helps, but I think you are supposed to do the following (it worked for me.)

1.) Download "patch" 1.08
2.) Extract the file.
2.) Cut and paste it into your Imperium Galactica II folder and answer "yes" or "ok" to replace the original .exe file when it asks.
3.) Under XP, it will give a warning the next time you try to run the game (unverified publisher or something.) Ignore this and run it anyway. There's also a box to uncheck so it won't warn you every time you attempt to run the game.

Basically, the idea is you don't run 1.08 as a patch, you use it as your new .exe file. Hope this helps, my game is running great by doing the above.

As much as I hate to dishearten you, Ive already solved this problem

But thanks anyway. I may need it again if I am forced to uninstall the game at some point.
