Marnetmar's Leftoverz

I know some people were wanting some new trees for the game & here's a little preview of some "goodies" I'm working on. This won't be a huge theme, just a few new trees & some rocks & maybe a few other things, I'm not sure what all just yet.

Looks cool, but this is another custom set or an Egypt addon?

Mart, i'm not sure if you've realised but RCT3 uses the criss cross method for trees. I'd love to know what performance you get using those trees, as they appear to be cyclinder trunk based.

I'm messing about atm with some trees, but of course we don't have transparent textures yet... so they look pretty fugly :P

I think you should just add these on to your Egypt pack. But, maybe it's just me.

Looks great tho!

I know exactly how most of the trees are done in RCT3, they're simple panels, which is fine. Right now we can't use transparent textures & a few more 3d trees won't hurt the fps, unless people get carried away, which will cause a lag no matter what props you use. The ovl's for these should be about 75k per tree I believe, which is about like 2-3 pieces of some of the wall pieces in the game.

YNH-I'm not sure if I'll add these with the Egypt stuff or not, I have some odds & ends to put together sooner or later lol, they might just wind up in Egypt though, I haven't decided on it yet.

Great work but, before you do start these other packs you should finish what you have already started. I'm not trying to be rude, i'm just saying alot of people wat that egypt pack......... including me.

Just my opinion, looks very good though.

my only comment on the leaves you should make it with like jaged edges so it looks like there are different lenght of leaves.

Fantastic work Marnetmar!
I would like to Thank You for all your hard work on scenery items.
I think you and the others that make and release these items are doing a great service for the RCT3 community.

No offense taken hag Most of this stuff is old models I already had laying around & just needed to fix the textures & tweak them a little & get the size fixed, etc. The Egypt stuff is going along well, just not as fast as I know everyone would like lol
I wanted to do the leaves like that, but for every added "jag" it makes the model size grow & I want to keep these as small as possible & still look good. We have enough lag problems already, I don't want to add to it any.

RCTMaNiAc255 & stryker5 - Big Thanks to you & everyone else here for your continued support for this stuff.

3d trees would be great but... they wouldn't be "filling" enough to make a decent forest with. Not unless they had about 5,000 polygons or so. Perhaps these can be lone trees, like little thing planted in the plaza of an Egyptian city.

The palm trees will be included in the Egypt theme I'm working on, but this little theme will have a few much needed items in it like the one below

1 of 4 tables

I haven't tried it yet Pumper, I wanted to get all the tables done first before starting on that little "challenge" lol I'm going to add another picnic style table with these also, so there'll be at least 5 tables with this.

A little update on the tables: I wanted to make the umbrella's recolorable for people, but for some reason the table & support for it & the umbrella pole are also changing color too. Actually though, the more I look at it the more I like the idea. What does everyone else think?

Table Color Test

Yeah CK, it's too bad the peeps won't actually use them as tables.

I think that the colouring of the tables is great as, most white tables will have some sort of colour reflection from the parasoles above just as yours do.

Looking forward to this download!

Omg I love it! I want them now!

I like the way the colored tables look! And I love the marble looking tabletop! The only bad thing besides the peeps not being able to use them would be the people walking right through them! Hehe.

I, too, really like the subtle coloring of the table to match the umbrella. As Park Novice said, when the sunlight comes thru those umbrellas, there would be some coloring to the table. Just think of it as a 'happy accident'.. cuz it looks fantastic.

My only question is, what is the 'peep clearance' around those corners? Are peeps going to be walking through the tables when they go to sit down? Could you also include a round tabletop?

Anyways... they look awesome!

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you like them.

ytivarg - I have to finish testing the square ones for the size, but the round one (pictured earlier in this thread) is basically done. The peeps seem to walk right through them at times regardless of the size. Kind of like they walk through each other lol
With no collision detection & since there's no other tables to try to have any "correct" settings to get peeps to use them, they're pretty much for looks, but hopefully that will be something we can fix in the future.

As mentioned earlier Marnetmar, I love the fact that the table changes color along with the umbrella - it may not be what was intended, but the turn out is excellent!
