Custom Scenery - Foodcourt Pack Download (3/8/05)

I've been having a playaround with custom scenery and, trying to get to grips with the texture files which, I was having some issues with and here, is something I came up with.

The top part of the image shows the wall at night with no lights, the bottom part of the image shows the wall with a couple of snake lights placed behind it.

It makes the wall disappear but, the image remains.

How do you make the pictures? Please add a tutorial on how to do this? Can it be done as holographics for Rrollercoasters to move through? And do you need Soaked for this?

Here is something to look at

http://rapidshare.de/files/3249755/Test.zip.html

Zip file contains a folder called test. This holds the three wall texture ovls. Copy this folder into Rollercoaster Tycoon 3\style\Themed folder as you normally do with custom scenery.

Then, copy test.dat into park folders within My Docs\RCT3

Open the park and set day / night transition. Place view infront of building and, keep an eye on what happens. Think this will open enormous possibilities for those people doing videos. However, I could just be over excited.

No you do not need soaked for this and, it would not be a problem for coasters to go through the walls if you have the scenery intersect option turned on.

Looks like you're halfway to an "Etched Glass" custom scenery set.... now how do they look during the day? Are they still semi-transparent?

I've got great ideas for this one.. how about a window, and near the bottom "Please Do Not Disturb The Operator" for control room windows? Ha! Hundreds of possibilities... Love the Emergency Exit as well!

I'm definately using this on a park I'm making. And I'm sure that you can use it as an operator's window. Thanks for the link!

In the test park, the wall is solid, you would not know. If you have day to night set on, you can watch the wall fade before your eyes to reveal what is behind it.

With the custom scenery & no collision detection on the props, you wouldn't need the scenery intersect cheat to go through them

Great find PN, this will be very useful I'm sure for a lot of things.

Here is a quick clip of the wall transition from day to night. It is in game recording so, you don't think I have cheated by using a video editor to obtain the shot.

http://www.zippyvideos.com/203359549684255.html

I'm going to have a play with this to see what else I can come up with.

The download didnt work for me i was gonna try something but Ill post my idea here for somebody to try

I was gonna try Sinking the lighthouse so you could only see the light and put the wall infront and see if it would dissapear and reappear as the light spins.

The answer to the fire question is no, it does not work. Will need to discover why that is.

Here is a quick test video with the light house. In principle it works no problem however, the light also affects the ground outside as well if it is sunk.

If you use the Dark ride set this, may not be the case.

I've tried both lasers and fireworks inside but, they don't work either. It must have something to do with the scenery file settings and, what it will react to. Will need to dig a little deeper into the settings to find the correct flags for reactios to fireworks.

I'll keep on trying though.

I'm thinking I may make a pack of these. If anybody wants anything specific, let me know and I'll compile a list the, I'll try and get something done.

That cocktail sign and the rest of them rock. Well done!

It would be cool if you could add more neon sign looking things like the cocktails one like a traditional

American diner sign.
