There is no 3rd party scenery for POTC. Just the in-game stuff.

I've thought about skeletons, and the only way I can think of to keep the polygon count low is to make them 2D accompanied by some sort of wall backdrop. Depending on how warped you make the 2D image, it might get down to about a dozen polygons, even with the backdrop.

Of course, I don't make custom scenery, so would that actually work?

That's great! Are you planning on making any sunken shipwrecks? The only problem with the ships in the game is that they have sails, and that doesn't look right for a shipwreck.

Yes, that would work LightWarriorK, the only problem with this at the moment is getting the alpha textures figured out.

here is a link http://www.hiddenmickeys.org/PictFra...d/skelhelm.jpg

to a picture of the ghost ship scene i am trying to make.

I have been trying to build just one simple low poly skeleton that i can make into several positions and add the get up for all the skeletons on the ride... theres so many parts hahaha if anyone has any idea on the skeleton dilema im all ears. So far i have tried making it kinda a wall but that doesnt look right, and the model i have is still at like 3000 polygons.

Ahh, well, thanks.

I guess since the alpha-textures don't work, it's a good thing that they're not what Eyeless wants.

Little by little, I learn.

But that pic is really nice. I wish something that realistic were possible, but it's going to have to be changed a LOT. I'd say to make the skeleton VERY angular, like having each bone be a triangular solid.

(Can you tell I've thought about this? My Ghost Ride Thread prompted it)

sorry i still havent gotten anything skeletons are freaking hard!!!!!

But i am working on it! Just bear with me, i work for the legislature... and we are in the middle of a special election so between phone banking, and doing other duties.. i try to squeeze in a few hours a day. I think i almost got it though the skeleton is down to 700 polygons but has big block hands and feet, is there a way to do alpha textures in RCT3? that would make it sooo much easier i could do just a shape for the whole rib cage and then have certain parts just transparent!

Okay

ooh and thanks martemar =) !!!!

and thank you live_the_thrill!!!

You could try having a look at the skeletons already in the game, in the spooky scenery (ie the one in the stocks and in the cage). They are just solid models that are textured to look like individual bones I think.
That way it would just be a main body, a head, arms and legs. You wouldn't need to worry about making separate ribs etc...

Cool, I`m really looking forward to this POTC stuff! Hope you get it figured out! Will you also be doing some of the women and other villagers? Or how about the sitting pirat with the bottle, so we can place him on top of a bridge. If you do other pirate models, you could try to just modify the ones from the game (if you know how to get them out) to make them fit to the scenery we already got...
good luck!

well im going to try the skeletons first... so far the freaking skeleton has been hard, just b/c of the polygon limits, but now that i can do alpha textures! wooooooohoooo just have to figure out how to do it in 3ds studio!.

The regular pirates once i figure out how to do this should be kinda easy! But we will see fingers crossed!
