OK. Having made absolutely no custom scenery myself, I can only suggest the following monster thread: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums...=&pagenumber=1 .
It contains Jonwil's RCT3 importer, which you will need to import your 3D models into RCT3. I think that there is some kind of tutorial on p69 (the last one). Don't know what for though, just wanted to see how long the thread is.

What are you trying to create? Good luck with whatever it is.

First of all, it is spelt scenery, and second of all, “Park Novice” has already done a WB pack. Here is a direct link

Hope he doesn't mind me advertising his stuff like this, but it is the only direct link I could find.

New theme idea

Since the WB theme is already done by "Park Novice"
I want to create a theme based on Hersheys.

what im going to call my park is Hersheys Theme Park
I want my park entrance to look like a hersheys candy bar
I want to have Hersheys candy bars standing up on the ground
i also want to have the hersheys bunny rabit standing on the ground as well.

How would i do that? Is there program im suppose to use to create my Hersheys Theme Park? Please someone give me answers.

Custom Scenary is heavily based on 3D modelling, and in my opinion, one of the hardest things to do on a computer.

It takes several months to master a 3D program, most of which cost.

Just for making a little wall can take up to an hour!

Cutom Scenary is not something you learn over night or something you can do in a couple of seconds.

When some one starts a pack and posts about it, its usually ay least a month before its done and released.

Just as Jamie P pointed out, making custom scenery is a long process that requires a lot of learning. One of the best tips that I think anyone can give you is that because this area is just starting out, YOU are going to be required to do a lot of the legwork and research yourself. There is not "How To Make Custom Scenery In 5 Easy Steps" manual available for this!

The first thing I would suggest is to use the 'search' function at the top of the page. Do search for 'custom scenery', or 'jonwil's editor' or '3-D graphic programs'...those will bring up a LOT of information. The trouble is that you need to wade through ALL of that. Different people have different results and opinions using different programs or using different techniques. Some will work for you, some will not. The thread about Jonwil's editor is huge, but I think you'll find most of the people now doing custom objects will tell you that you really need to read every single bit of it.

If you are serious about learning how to do this there are many people who will be very glad to help you along the way. But you need to make the first steps to show that your willing to do the work required from YOUR end.

Good luck, I really hope this is something you'll decide to try!

blender is a good beginners 3d editor program. It has a lot of tutorials and is easy to use.....but texturing can be a little hard at times. if you want to spend money, milkshape is probably the way to go. and as stated many times before, it's hard so expect to do a lot of work if you want to make nice scenery.

Place custom structures

I went to scenerio editor, then i clicked on scenery button
then i clicked on custom structures, then i clicked on Custum
structures folders and it shows none okay. how would i add my own cutom structures to that folder in RCT 3?

Another question: instead of a 3D program to design my own scenery can i use photoshop to design my my own scenery?

You have to build some in game and save them, then you can re'load them in another park or use them to create groups of similar buildings

I think that there is some kind of tutorial on p69 (the last one).
that was mine, its a very basic starting 'tutorial' for UV texturing/editing in anim8or. Not sure if it even works though in game, haven't tried it yet, but its here for anyone who wants it:

A lot of that thread could be condensed, as the first 25 pages was finding out stuff thats just known now and can be put into a few paragraphs.

if your good at photoshop, but not at 3d models, maybe you could help make some textures for people who aren't good at that? Textures i think are more difficult in a way!

Most people use anim8or (free), milkshape (costs small amount of money) or 3dmax (costs a lot).

anim8or is here www.anim8or.com
