StarTrek Scenery! **Update 5-22-06 Cargo Room Ready for DL!

Welp I wipped out my 3D proram and putting together some Startrek Themed Scenery...

I just started tonight, these shots are concepts of what I'm looking for.

This is an arch I have an idea for, and I plan to make one for klingon and perhaps borg (maybe more).

The shots are from the front and side, I've tested the model in RCT3 and it's smooth and the game seems to handle it as well.

I have a lot of ideas to include this package, not just walkways, but hallways, bridges, ships, buildings. I'm also going to create path walls specifically detailed to the cooridors of the starships.

Will update!

*~*Update*~*

Well I had to reduce the model polygons, however I used this in advantage to give it a more technical look. However the arch is going to be without words, allowing you to use different signs and insignias to represent your different species.

Currently I'm trying to find a way how to get the words up there without having it dissapear when you zoom away in RCT3 (words take up quite a bit of polys).

I'm also working right now on the star fleet style cooridors and walkways. I should post a picture hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

*~*Update*~*10-27-05

I've created a federation style hall set, that you'll be able to tile and create something like these screenshots.

I also will create adition federation wall styles:
-Red Alert Status (The Red will be more brighter with the walls being darker
-Access Panels
-Damaged
-Borg Assimilated (SP)

The textures are like off and everything, because for some reason when I hit undo on my program, all my textures went berzerk. I was soo irritated, thus I quickly mapped the textures back on without precision. So rest assured, the final model will have better alignment.

*~*Update*~*10-27-05

I've completed the walls for the modern federation class hall walls, and am very pleased of the outcome for the walls. Better detailed textures and mapping.

All together I've came up with 14 wall pieces (mixed regular, damaged & 1 plain ) I haven't created the borg walls yet nor the earlier federation and alien based halls.

You can click here to view all hall pieces. Below I've attached the walls put together, to give you an idea of what this will look like.

ENJOY!

*~*Update*~*11-02-05

I've added 6 different wall pieces for the cargo bay allowing you to create all kinds of architectures. I'm going to make these available asap since you been waiting so patiently. Plus I do appreciate your comments and ideas.

Look great, but remember if you want to import in RCT3 without any problem, you might need to remodel to reduce the number of polygons. I have found put the limit of polygons is about 300. If your model has fewer than about 350 polygons then it should be work all the distance view, otherwise it will disappear after 10 square away which it is be not useful for long distance snapshot..

I wonder if it would be possible to make a low polygon version to use for exteriors and the high polygon version to use in interior spaces where you would usually see it up close or through your peep's eyes?

Sure looks sweet! Great job on it!

Borg
Klingon
Romulan
Kardasian
B'Jorn
Vulcan
and the Ferengii are the heavy hitters
can't wait to seee what you come up with, i know i will be watching this thread closely

You know what this means don't you ?

All the staff in RED shirts will die horribly in this park

Yea, some nice minitures of the ships would be nice scattered through the park, seeing as there are 5 series you could have 5 themes, eh ?

If you need other Trek fonts I have some....

I can't seem to get how to make the models a bit brighter, but I'm working on it.

I need your opinion on texture styles... I've managed to bring it down to 8bit 256 bitmaps, but it gives me two ways of creating the image...

The differences between the both is one (top) is pixelated and dithered making the colors blend more naturally, the other (bottom) is more tone seperated, making the colors visually seperated...

BTW: These are the textures I'm using to create for the damaged walls. This is one of them I slapped for a burned panel, however this one looks more like mud was splattered on it =P.

So please choose which one you would most likely pick so I can keep the textures concistent.

Bitmap style 1:

Bitmap style 2:

I was going to pick that originally, howevr didn't want people to complain saying (It's pixelated) cause it's hard to have an 8bit texture without some beautiful gradients =P

I'm using Caligari TrueSpace. It's a low budge easy/friendly powerful 3D Modeling program.

Those walls look awesome! I kind of like the darker look of them. They would be great for a space themed dark ride!

This is coming along very well. It looks like your Startrek scenery will look better than the scifi scenery that came with the game.

Are you going to make any windows with stars and planets in the background?

This looks like it will be a must have pack.
