DM-Cicatrice Beta(2) Last Beta...
I decided to make a new thread jsut to keep things a little organized
. So you've probably seen this before, but I've added some new areas and opened it up a bit. It's for 6-8 players, I'd say. Maybe a little more, probably not a little less.And for those who haven't seen it before, it's pretty much just a crappy-looking warehouse-type thing. Since the first beta, I added a few new areas, and a new "ocean" theme. A few meshes, fixed a UV or two, and worked a little on frames optimization. Note: I have yet to do anything to the elevators yet, so just ignore those ![]() ![]() And some of the new areas: ![]() Have fun. And yes, I don't mind if you say it looks like crap; that's what I was going for. Download: NEW as of SUNDAY the 2nd! DM-Cicatrice_BetaFinal.zip (2.31mb)

Hey, nice map! It's a bit cramped at places, imo UT maps should have more space tp move... Hope you can do something about that!

Hey, nice map! It's a bit cramped at places, imo UT maps should have more space tp move... Hope you can do something about that!
Thanks for trying it out. I might have to expand it a bit; that was a concern in the first beta too. You can see behind here I'll put some blocking volumes there. The ocean was really hard because of the fact that you can see the rest of the level if you're in the right places... I got stuck here I'll smooth that out. This could do with some blocking (but might make it even more cramped) Originally it did block, but I caught onto it a lot as I ran by... and a Blocking volume would do the same. I'll leave it alone for now and hopefully no one will notice it ![]() Am i supposed to shoot in there? If you'd like. At least you can't get in there! Standing on there... You could see through a part of the ceiling. I would post a picture, but I already fixed it. So hopefully no one will report that one since it's been fixed already. As of now, I expanded a few areas, and made some hallways wider. Hope it helps. I'll have a new version up soon.

New version up, I've got someone else testin' it out a little and I've gone through a few versions without posting it up here

5/8 posts are mine
![]() Final Beta unless something big is messed up. I played through it a few times, and fixed many issues. I scaled the map 25% and you can run freely now. I just can't add/change anything major now because all of the brushes are off-grid. Level preview added, and I upped the player count from 8 to 12 (with 10 bots I was still alone a lot of the time...) I must say, good Job! It's much wider now!
I got stuck near the Water ![]() It's still possible to get on the roof ![]() There's a flickering Texture here ![]() What do you see, if you look out of that window? ![]() This looks extremeley wierd ![]() Another roof, camping spot ![]()

I'll fix where you got stuck near the water
and getting stuck on the ceiling and the texture and I'll put some more water under that window and fix the water stopping, that was a stupid thing I forgot to resize and I'll block off thre tree. the wood disappearing must be something with zoning... I'll just delete them. They look goofy anyway ![]() And that window is just a window... you had to go into ghost mode to see it messed up, right? Then it should be fine. It's really just the back of the green roof, but it overlaps into the window area and you can see it. I didn't want to make it a real window because it would just be having you render the whole outside zone(big) by connecting them... just so you could see out a window. thanks a lot ![]()

I'm throwing around some themes for my next map at the moment as well as tweaking this.I fixed most of not all of the problems evil reported.. a lot of the places you got stuck on the ceiling were from stand on a window or another object on the adjacent wall. So I fixed a few of those. Blocked off a few more windows, and added water to that spot so it looks prettier. I also noticed that you can shoot through some of the roofs (rooves?)... I tried all I could apart from some big changes but to no avail. I can't change it too much, because when I scaled it, it skewed all of the BSP and it's all off the grid. So I'm going to "Fully" release it tomorrow unless I find something else... Thanks a lot for all of your work guys.
