Icon25 Top Selling New Anime Series of 2007

Yep that is what is on the front of my Guyver volume 2 DVD that just arrived today.

I did a thread here about the Guyver and we had some discussion on it. Well as it turns out, there is a great interest in this series and I am going to start doing some episode reviews shortly now that my second volume has arrived.

I can't wait to pop this in my DVD drive. Of course after I wash the dishes.

Here is a scan where the red & white sticker is placed on the front of the plastic wrapping. I am really excited here!!!

Just a note, volume 3 releases next month.

Just wait till Haruhi comes out on DVD. It'll probably be eaten alive by the fans. Good for Guyver, though I don't and probably won't watch it.

Guyver is classic cheese. I mean, quality B-movie stuff.

Didn't the Sci-Fi channel do a live action version of it? Might've stared Mark Hamil?.. I remember seeing that...

Though we did "Tales of Adam" at QPT3K the author decided to give his avatar a Guyver suit (In addition to every power of every video game character he'd ever played) and kept crossing over Guyver villians into the story without ever even once describing what they're even supposed to look like. Other than the Sci-Fi channel movie, that's all the exposure to Guyver I've ever had.

This thread has some DVD info for the first volume.

Yes there were actually 2 live action shows done. I believe in that thread link above, there is a live action trailer from the second film. Enjoy.

I watched the 2nd volume yesterday. Its suprising what the Guyver suit can do. More to come.

They do that kind of stuff on lots of Anime DVDs. They put a sticker on Negima! saying it was #4 in Anime Insider magazine.

I have both volumes of the new Guyver series, can't wait till #3 comes out. What are your thoughts so far Tim? Did you ever see the '90s version, and if so, how do you compare the two series?

Well no this is actually my first anime series of Guyver. I can't make a comparison on the first run, but when seeing the information details at Deep Discount, it indicated that this was to surpass the earlier releases, and that its an all new production. I figured that this would be something intriguging.

When I got my first volume, I was like "this is some good stuff". I can see a great story here and it never gets dull. I enjoyed the live action movie that had Mark Hamil as a cast member.

I was astounded at the story and the capabilities of the Guyver suit. The second volume shows how Sho was regenerated by the metal core. His fight though in the woods prior to his first death was a bit brutal. I can't wait till the third volume releases, which in fact I am going to do a pre-order.

Out of the 3 suits revealed so far for the Guyvers in volume 1 and 2 which one do you like for styling? I like Guyver 1.
