If anyone is going to do the Mystery Mine-inspired ride justice, it'll be you.

Wow fisherman... I'm just loving that first pic with the dizzy dropper being used as scenery!

Seriously your rides just keep getting better and better! Oh, and great job on disguising that drop in the second pic!

Can't wait to see more!!!

Thanks, guys! Here's a blast from the past...it's the original story from the first incarnation of the ride. This new version will follow the same story. Are the ghosts of McManus and the townsfolk still haunting the mines? You'll have to wait and see...

GhostMine: The Legend of Ghastly Gulch

Waaaay back in the mid-1800s there was a mining town called Ghastly Gulch...and of course...it had a goldmine. But creepy things started to happen in the mine...people started hearing strange things and seeing lights and shadows in the darkness. At first, they thought it was merely the gases in the mine playing tricks with their minds but then stranger and stranger things began to happen. As it turned out...there was a shrewd old prospector by the name of McManus who had discovered the 'mother lode' deep down a tunnel that no one else knew about...and being quite 'creative'...he had begun to try to scare the other prospectors out of the mines by making ghostly noises in the tunnels...and by hanging lanterns in strange places with eerie silhouettes glued on them. But when his antics were finally discovered in the winter of 1851...he disappeared. No one ever saw him again. But the scary thing was...the eerie shadows and sounds STILL haunted the mines. Was McManus still alive...lurking in the mines, trying to protect his gold? Shortly after his disappearance, luck played a nasty hand with the townsfolk of Ghastly Gulch. In the spring of '52 there was a terrible earthquake which gave the town and the whole region of Coyote Mesa such a jolt that the town was flooded by nearby Lucky Lode Lake and swallowed up by the earth! All that was left was the entrance to the mine...and the lake...with the town buried deep down below. Through the years, daring adventurers have gone into the mine in search of McManus' gold...never to be seen again. The mine entrance is still there...and so is the lure of the gold. Do you dare go down to look? Will the ghosts of Ghastly Gulch let you out alive?

Looks good so far. I like the story, it always seems to make the ride look better when there's a story behind it. I don't see why people go crazy over two pictures although I'm sure this will turn into another masterpiece.

Ha ha...actually, my GhostMine ride came a couple of years before Mystery Mine was ever announced...and I've been wanting to redo it ever since using custom scenery...

Maybe Dollywood saw my ride and copied it.

Oh wow, and I should have guessed you would make a sequel (or redo it.) Why didn't you tell me? I think I mentioned Ghost Mine a bunch of times. Oh well, really great idea, and looks and sounds excellent.
