Yeh I will create a video tutorial on stall, to add a vertice simply use the text tool. A vertice is well basically a dot in simple terms, it cannot be textured. So place the text where you want to have your effect point.
Big thanks to the Skipper for adding this page to the stickied tutorials list. Oz

Nice work on this Oz, this thread is awesome. I give you five stars, your tutorials have helped me so much, I wish their was something I could do in return. I just had a look at your site and I was wondering if you could maybe add some more to your FAQ's(Frequently Asked Questions) page. Things like this will make it much easier for all us CS noobs and the more FAQ's you have the better. Thanks again for all your work Oz.

Great job Oz!
I have a suggestion for one thing I haven't seen covered...you have an excellent tutorial on using the importer (it really helped make it easy to understand with all the screenshots), but that covers importing ONE object, perhaps a small tutorial on importing MULTIPLE objects (like parts to a set). I figured it out myself through trial and error, but a quick overview might help others. BTW - I have my first five pieces imported. A little clean up on a couple textures and they'll be ready!

I like the custom stalls video, it taught me heaps. Just so you know, i think with your billboard tutorial you used the wrong screenshot for the sids picture.

Update: Alignment Picture for SketchUp
Quote:
I have just added an alignment picture for SketchUp which is used for UV mapping objects like scrolling signs, billboards and park entrances. You can download this from the first post, it is listed under "Other Downloads". Oz

When creating the ovl and you are adding the model, select 'edit' in the 'transformation matrix' frame and select 'fix orientation'. This will make the object appear the correct way in the game.

You select that in the game, with the importer just select the type food, drink or other, then with custom stalls you have to set the buyable items in the game. If you place your stall then try to open it, it will not open until you set the things to sell.

What greyed out button, you need to be more specific. Can you see what it says or tell me where it is located.

'Carried Items' this is objects for people to carry(I think I do not know full details) this is currently not possible but will hopefully be possible when the next update of the importer comes out.

Nice work on this thread Oz, it looks really professional. It is much easier to follow, I was wondering if you could add information on the flags and unknowns on your first post. Other then that this is great. Keep up the great work, its good to see people willing to use their spare time to help others.

ok to fix that ^ the problem is that when you made this object in Sketchup you did not apply different groups for different textures. So go back to Sketchup find out which faces use the same texture then group them i.e. if you have 5 different textures you should have 5 different groups. Make sure you give each group a corresponding name to the texture and then make sure you have none of your groups selected then press the ase export. This time when you are exporting and the window pops up just like in the first picture you posted you should see the names of all your separate groups also when you get to the same spot as the bottom picture you will notice in the Groups(Meshes) frame that you can see all of your different groups, now just apply the correct texture to each groups and the little light should go green when it is set up correctly.

Yeh no problem, thats what I'm here for.
Did you create your icon sheet 512x512 pixels and what picture format did you use. Have you viewed my icon sheet tutorial listed under general. Oz

Oz that new tutorial on recolorable textures is great, I really liked how you gave us an overview of indexed colors and the different file formats etc. It was very informative and it is very similar in photoshop, not exactly the same but it is is to figure out of this tutorial. Nice work yet again Oz
Thanks again for everything (I wish it would let me rate this thread again, I would give it another 5 star rating). |
