New Game : Efteling Tycoon!

Hi guys ,

On the dutch fora's , they've announced efteling tycoon. Efteling is a themepark in holland in Kaatsheuvel , it has a fairy tale theme , some know about this park and some don't know about this park. It will be more realistic then RCT 3. I will keep you all up to date if there's an update here are some screens :

Maybe Atari needs to realize there's still a strong demand for this type of game... and that they're losing a lot of potential customers by not offering up the support for RCT3 and it's community.

^ I agree on that. A lot of people that I know of loves these type of games. I know some just like building their own theme park and others that take their time in making a realistic park. Yes, these games do have potential. Kind of like Sim City.

Beautiful screens!

Just shows what can be done versus the giant bugs and unrealistic look found in Thrillville. Maybe Frontier and Atari can learn something from this...although somehow I doubt Frontier will.

I agree with you BoRJoYZeE, some of us are into really detailed, realistic parks that don't include things like cheerleader tryouts or have to carry on some idiotic conversation with a peep.

Doesn't this sound just like a modified RCT3? Sure the screens are pretty, but the gaming sounds similar. I would hate to see it released as something "new", but have it be the same old game dressed up in sheep's clothing.

This is what I've always been dreaming for. Control the Efteling in a computer game. Atari should do that a lot more. I'm sure there are a lot of people waiting to play another variation of this kind of game. Maybe another themepark.
I'm so excited, I can't wait till october when it comes in stores!

I agree...it does sound like a version of RCT3, or perhaps uses the same platform. At first I thought the screens of the ride and the trashcan were really impressive, but you know, before RCT3 was released they showed similar impressive pics.

I'm wondering IF this IS based on RCT3, is it compatible? If so, will the rides and scenery work in RCT3? Have any fixes been done to the game engine? Does Frontier have anything to do with this? And will Atari be considering doing other park-specific game sets?

Raises a lot of questions anyways...

You must see it like this , efteling is really populair in the Netherlands , and I mean REALLY populair. They think they will get high sale numbers with this game also. If you ask a question lik : Which Amusement park is the best in holland? Mostley they will say efteling.

I'm thinkin this is a hoax, since no one has posted a link to this so called game, OR the dutch site. My impression is someone is making a C S set and attempting to make it "appear" more "official".

Outside of Holland and this forum, 90% of people here haven't heard of Efteling, and with Atari's financial situation, I can't imagine them investing in a project of such limited scope.

Yes, I've always heard that, and in fact I've always liked that many of the Dutch members of the community have posted photos and information about Efteling for a long time, it looks like a fantastic park and I know it's also said that if probably inspired Walt Disney when he built Disneyland.

If this come about I would very much like try it. I'm just wondering what connections, if any, it has with RCT3, and if it can be used as an expansion pack rather than an entire new game. Hopefully they give us some answers soon.

Ah, okay, That makes sense. Efteling wants more fame, and in this case, I can see they'd approach Atari and fund it. Thanx for clearing up the "fog", jazzy!

"it's also said that if probably inspired Walt Disney when he built Disneyland."

The park that is credited with giving Walt Disney the inspiration for Disneyland is Tivoli in Copenhagen/Denmark. It is one of the oldest funparks in the world and maybe the first which was all about "themeing" attractions.
Efteling is not old enough to be a referrence for Disney.

This sounds pretty cool! But one little question, will we be able to still make our OWN parks without the park having stuff from Efteling in it?

I "THINK" that's like Rct but then with efteling objects in it , so you can build your own coaster and so.

This does sound very similar to RCT3. This suggests alot of things really. Perhaps RCT3 isn't dead... yet?!
